Just buy them - you'll find a good use for them.
Where have these been all of my life? They're the perfect size and shape for dozens of applications. Coolers, lunchboxes, even first aid - these are awesome. Heck, you can use these to line foods in the fridge with in the event of an emergency or as a temporary portable cooling method for whatever you may need. These are some amazing ice packs - so much better than the massive blocks I have been freezing and refreezing for years. They're overdue for replacement and these are it. Expect me to order more after Christmas. For $5 a pack, you can't go wrong - you get 4 in a set.

Keeps gogurt cool for 5 hours
These work great to keep my daughter's lunch cold from 7am when she packs her lunch until she eats at 12:20. She takes a frozen gogurt each day and says it's still cold when she eats lunch. I wouldn't want her taking something that could spoil and make her sick if I didn't trust that these work. They are compact and fit nicely in her lunch bag. I put 2 in and it doesn't add much to the weight. I haven't tried them for summer day camp yet, so not sure how long they would keep her lunch cool in the Texas heat. I wish they sold them in a square instead of rounded edges, it would just work a bit better in her lunch box but other than that they are good.

Amazing, still partially frozen when the lunch bag comes home.
Love these ice packs. Since they are so flat I can stick one on the bottom and top of my sons lunch. They are still partially frozen when he comes home. I was so nervous buying ice packs cause you just don't know until you try them. These are amazing. We had gotten the "PackIt" lunch bag but it was way to heavy for my little guy to carry cause once the bag is frozen it is so heavy. These are a win win.

Not Recommended
I purchased these back in August of 2016 in an effort to find an good alternative to the "Fit & Fresh Cool Coolers Slim Lunch Ice Packs - Set of 4" (The popular one with the Penguin on it that has over 3000 reviews) ice packs after they "broke" from normal wear and tear after a little more than two years use. I use these smaller packs as additional coverage to a couple larger ice packs to help keep my sandwiches and drinks decently cold in my insulated lunch bag. Considering the higher price point, I expected these to be built to last longer but I was wrong when I recently found out that they cracked in the middle all along the top side (where it gets filled) in both directions because of all the blue mess it made in my bag when I was cleaning it out at home. What makes it even worse is that I don't use all 4 at a time, I only use two and rotate them out to essentially spread out the wear and tear. I only work 4 days a week so that means each ice pack gets used twice a week. Upon inspection of the two I have left, they have cracks in the middle along the top as well, so I expect them to last not much longer. This is terribly disappointing considering when I was using the cheaper previous brand I mentioned earlier, they lasted roughly 4 times longer and that was when I was working 5-6 days a week.I don't write reviews often, but wanted to share with you all about my little experiment so you won't fall into the same pit as me. More expensive does not always equal better quality.

Don't stay cool for very long
I really wanted to love these, but I find them to be only "okay." I bought these to replace the cheap gel bags you buy at the grocery store, because those always end up tearing and oozing out whatever goo is inside. My main complaint about these Chilly Paks is that they just don't stay cold very long, especially for the fifteen-and-change that I paid for them. I usually put two in my son's insulated lunch bag at 7 in the morning, and they're at room temperature by the time I pick him up at 3. I'm sure that could be an issue for families with kids who need these to last through after-school day care as well. We do live in Southern California, but it hasn't been very hot since we've started using these (mostly in the upper 60s/low 70s), so I can't imagine they'll do any better once the weather heats up.I do like the size of them and the fact that they're flat, not bulky, and don't take up much room. I also like that they won't leak and are easy to clean. But I just don't find them to stay cool more than a couple of hours, tops. For now, I'm still on the hunt for a better small ice/gel pack for my son's lunch bag.

works great with my kids lunch boxes
works great with my kids lunch boxes, though I have to put 2 in to keep things cold till lunch time for them. I like the slim design, but i wish it kept things colder longer.

multi-use
I was debating about which ice pak to purchase for my lunch pack. I like this, as it is a neat size, and you can fit it in tiny spaces. Additionally, I was influenced by another reviewer who said "buy it. you will find a use for it." and indeed this has been useful to put on my eyes when they get puffy. So far no leaks. It comes in a pak of 4 which I think is plenty.

Perfect to pack in your lunchbag!
Purchased items for my 12 year old daughter's lunch bag. Regular ice packs are extremely heavy and bulky in the lunch bag for school. These discs are lightweight and maintain its chilliness for her lunch. These discs do not sweat and wet the interior of the bag up like normal ice packs do. I also ordered a second pack in hopes that my husband will climb aboard the disc train. FYI, we use two discs for her Vera Bradley lunch bag, and it works well.
