Deep Fries 12 lb Turkey; Does Sous Vide steaks as well!
Overall, this is a good product with a couple of drawbacks:The Good—1) It deep fries a turkey using a minimum of oil in about 2 hrs. It is now a must-have appliance to cook my Thanksgiving turkey. Note: I do cook it out on the patio because it stinks up the house.2) It makes the greatest French Fries and Chicken Tenders you will ever taste—just follow the recipe.3) I don’t use it for steaming, because my pressure cooker is quicker. Yet, I found a hidden use: it does a great job at Sous Vide cooking. For instance, I fill the tub with water and set the temperature to 130 degrees (note: you have to use a kitchen thermometer to initially set it since the numbers around the knob start at 175. Once I found the setting, I marked it). Then I placed the vacuum-sealed bags of steaks in the fry basket (you probably don’t want the plastic bags directly touching the heating element) and let them Sous Vide cook for about 3 hours. I do a lot of them at once and then I store them in the freezer. When I want a delicious, medium-rare steak, I take one directly from the freezer, sear it in my cast iron skillet and it’s ready in about four to six minutes. It actually works better than other Sous Vide systems since the large heating element heats the water evenly without needing to circulate. The Bad—1) The first one I ordered was defective; the rotisserie function did not work. Also it looked as if it was previously used. I returned it and received a good one. Not a big deal… just a warning.2) The power cord is just two feet long and attaches with a quick disconnect, magnetic system. So it unplugs easily and unexpectedly. Also, there is no on/off switch; the plug turns it on and off.3) The 120-minute timer is no more useful than an ordinary, mechanical kitchen timer. They could have easily eliminated this feature and saved money. I use technology (i.e. my cell phone or Echo) to set the timer.4) Cleaning the unit after a deep-frying session is not easy because it doesn’t fit nicely in the sink, plus you need a brush to clean the sprockets of the rotisserie system and avoid the sharp edges. I can’t blame the designers though, because I don’t see how they could’ve improved it. After all, it needs to be large enough to fit a turkey and the rotisserie sprocket needs to be in the oil. Cleaning after a Sous Vide session, however, is easy because you just need to drain the hot water.Hope this helps!

Uses less oil!
We always deep fry our turkeys in peanut oil, and our old fryer stopped working so we got this one (5 liter). This one is new and improved! It uses a lot less oil, and it does a great job, cooks evenly, heats fast and maintains temperature (be sure to set turkey out in room temp an hour or so prior to cooking). Word of caution, though: don't necessarily go by minutes to cook per pound. If we had gone by the instructions on this model, we would have wayyyy overcooked turkey. Best practice is ALWAYS to check the temperature via thigh and breast and leave room for cooking to continue to roughly 10 degrees once removed from cooking. Also it will not fit a turkey any bigger than what it states... I think it says up to 14 pounds -- seriously, not an ounce over that. Another great feature is that with the older model, we had to truss the turkey to the rotisserie harness; this one has a basket that does not need any of that. Easy to empty -- it comes with a hose that allows siphoning out through the bottom edge locking spigot into whatever container you're using to store or discard your oil.

Cuisinart Rotisserie Fryer Delivers
I used this product to fry my Thanksgiving turkey. The fryer was easy to set up and prepare for initial use. The fryer heats up relatively quickly. The fryer can accommodate a 14 lb turkey which is the approximate size I had. The baskets on each end make it unnecessary to tie up the legs and provides good stability to prevent the turkey from moving and preventing the smooth operation of the rotisserie. The turkey is done within an hour which greatly reduces the time it usually takes to cook a turkey giving you plenty of time to do other things. Clean up is a challenge but the deep fryer well comes out to facilitate easier cleaning. Overall I am very pleased with the quality and effectiveness of this product.

Safest Turkey Fryer (in oil) yet‼️
The media could not be loaded. I really like this fryer. My only gripe would be that the controls s/b digital.Easy setup, use & cleaning. The temp never got above 350 so I question why 375 is even on the controls.I fried 6 (10-13lb ea.) turkeys in succession w/o issue. Fried some wings a few days later & again was pleased with the results. A friend fried a 16lb turkey with the same results. This is the safest model I’ve ever used for frying.

UPDATE: Failed after 5 months of use!
UPDATE: This item is DISCONTINUED. it had a power/electronics failure after 5 months of use. I have been getting the run-around from Conair (Cusinart Customer service) for 4 months now. After four months they want me to return the item after I did what they said initially which was to send them a photo of the unit, cut the power cable and send them a photo of the cut cable. And this is only to get a "letter of credit!" If I didn't know any better, I would think that they just want the one year warranty clock to run out which it will in less than a month.Amazon can do nothing as it is past the "return window." BUYER BEWAREGreat fryer, however if you are using the rotisserie feature, be sure to DOUBLE the time per pound of bird be it chicken or turkey. Obviously with the rotation action only one side is submerged in the oil as it rotates so be sure to take this in to consideration. I also have a temp "gun" so I temped it out as between 335 and 340 when set to 375. Which is fine for cooking poultry. So if the recipe says six minutes a pound, bring it up to 10-12 minutes per pound or else you'll have an underdone bird. Found this out by trial and error.I like the draining feature and is fairly easy to clean.

Perfect deep fryer for Turkey!
The media could not be loaded. Bought this deep fryer for my 11lbs turkey & it did not disappoint! Next time I'll definitely use it on a bigger turkey. My turkey was cooked in 40 mins!!! Wow!!! Easy to drain oil - thanks to the easy drain valve. The turkey will slowly spin as it deep fry so no need to worry about the bottom meat burning or flipping the turkey at all. Got this during Prime day so it was a great price! Only con is that it can be hard to clean but I still love everything about this deep fryer!!! 10/10!! I recommend!

Works as described
First one was a dud - wouldn’t turn on. Exchanged it - second one works great; no issues. Cord is very short about 18 inches. Easy to use.
