Brilliant little amp!
I bought this as a backup amp for my main amp as well as an easy-to-transport amp for small gigs. The TC Electronic amp certainly does not disappoint! During testing in my studio, paired with Gallien Krueger Neo212 cab, it has some very easy to dial in sounds and it is properly loud too. It is fantastic value for money. I have decided to use it live this weekend!

Love this head
Was looking for something lighter than the old heavy 450w Behringer I had. I initially bought a Harley Benton Block 800B, but just didn’t like it, took a lot of fiddling to get the right sound. This BQ500 was slightly cheaper and apparently not as powerful. I was blown away when I first tried it. Loved the sound straight out the box with everything on flat and it is super loud. Seems a lot louder than the 800W HB. I’ve got the master volume at below 8 o’clock and the gain under 12 o’clock and it is very loud. The compressor seems ok, but I use a pedal for that. I would highly recommend this head. Doe what it says in the tin and does it very well.

Great small portable amp head
I wanted a small/portable but reasonably powerful amp head which delivered a good clean sound. This amp fits the bill. I'm not sure it sounds as loud as some other 500w rated heads but it deliversplenty for what I need. Very satisfied.

dissapointing
I was desperate for a amp I have 4 others but due to a festival we played & the electrical supply being spikey & not constant all my amps are fried or in protection mode. this was the only amp i could find I had a chance of getting for a nother gig. YOu can tell Behringer have made their mark on the this once great brand, cheap, it does not push out 500 watt the most it in reality does deliver is 280 to 300 peak, but the quality is pretty awful, muddy, dull, no brigtness, no clarity ofr detail, ok if you just want to make some noise, save your money by a pre Berighger area one the older BG 250 / 550. 800, or the RH series amps I have both now they are repaired I will be selling this one, I will be loosing money again.

Small, powerful and cheap.
My crappy Markbass Little Mark II burned and I odered BQ500 as replacement into my CMD 102P combo. It is smaller than LM II and fits loosely into the compartment. Sounds not as good as Markbass. Little bit too clean and characterless. However, not tested it enough - only two gigs performed. Anyway, plenty of power for that money. Recommend!

How good is this?
I'm a guitarist who plays bass mainly as a recording artist. However, I do occasionally jump on four strings to play small to medium gigs with a band. I recently sold my large bass rig on account of it's awkward size and weight that was a struggle to store or utilise (just not a practical one-for-all-rig). I was on the market for something small, portable, dynamic and powerful enough for direct recording projects and rocking up to occasional small pubs, clubs or rehearsal rooms, etc.! After considering a few amps (up to x3 the price) I settled with the TC Electronics BQ250 Thrust. This smart looking 'Red' amp is small, light, a great build quality and simple to use. I went for the 250 watt version because the majority of my playing is direct into a DAW which is monitored through headphones, any live front of house stuff generally goes D.I. through a desk and my feelings on 'Backline has somewhat changed over the years and I feel that the BQ250 will give me all that I need. I've already used it a couple of times and I'm honestly in awe' of what is achieved through a 300 watt single light weight 12" Sub and HF cabinet. So, is it any good for it's very competitive price? I ain't seen a damming review yet, so only time will tell, I guess..!
