Other sellers sell just the head. I can use it to style my wigs,as well as store them when I'm not wearing it. My big bonus with this purchase, i make hats and headbands, so rather than guessing how my products turn out this size saves me the trouble when I need a solid yet soft enough surface to push pins in to hold certain embellishments in place. For me it's perfect. I don't use it to dye, wash, or glue anything it can mess up the canvae. A person would need a "wood" head when using liquids. The 22" is a good universal size for me.
