She was moved by the story and the illustration. She was absolutely disgusted by the thought of Sugar Bug Doug peeing acid on in her mouth. She is an avid brusher. We found it when she was maybe one and a half or two and now she is five and loves brushing away those sugar bugs. She has never had a cavity. I'm happy that it encouraged her to brush and stay in that habit. Now I, don't have to do all the work or convince her to do anything. I had her in the dental chair at 6 months I think. Dentist and brushing are kinda fun.
