Nova Commode + Lunderg Liners = LIFE CHANGER!
I have purchased this Commode for my mother, who has Parkinson's, because sometimes she can't totally control herself and with the hurry one night she fell down while going to the toilet, injuring her knee, so I found this commode and I decided to give it a try. I have adjusted the height for her and she finds it very comfortable and useful because now she doesn't have to go all the way to the bathroom, especially at night.PROS:Foldable: It’s easy to move it around the house or put in the car.Sturdy & Stable: My mother weighs 150lb and doesn’t have any complaints. I’m around 200lb and I tried to sit for a while and supported me perfectly, it says it supports up to 300lb but I didn’t try that much.Lightweight: It’s very light for the amount of weight that it can support. Easy to carry around the house.Easy to mount: Took a few minutes to set it up.CONS:A bit narrow: For my mother fits well but for bigger people like me might be a bit too narrow. Not so easy to clean - CLEANING TIP: At the beginning we didn’t use any bag so cleaning the bucket was a bit messy and you can get your hands really “dirty” (if you know what I mean) but I got a box of Lunderg Commode Liners and they work like a charm, they fit the commode and avoid any mess. Even my mother finds them pretty easy to use because they don’t come in a roll. I would totally recommend to use the NOVA commode with the Lunderg liners (thank me later!)Overall, I’m pretty happy with the purchase and I would recommend it for anyone in need. Just make sure you include some Lunderg liners when you buy it.

High quality item at much less than MSRP
This product was ordered for a wheel-chair/walker bound client who cannot walk without orthopedic shoes. The unit was shipped by Wayfair box-in-a-box and arrived in good shape with exception of the product packaging being torn near the carry handle, almost as if it had been opened, but the tear might have occurred as the package was pulled from a shelf to be shipped.Item appeared to be brand new based on interior packaging and item itself.I had brought a small toolkit with me for assembly, but it was absolutely TOOL-FREE set-up in about 7 minutes. Very intuitive and easy. The legs are reversed for shipping, so be aware that they need to be rotated 270 degrees as you are snapping the product together. The frame is painted steel. Lightweight enough to easily move, but wide and deep enough to provide stability. We placed item in the corner next to the bed. No problems whatsoever during use, and the handle on the pail made cleanup each morning very easy.I would definitely recommend this to anyone and will buy from Wayfair provided that their pricing is competitive. Also, this Nova 8700-R (R probably for the revised brake) did not have ANY of the objectionable characteristics I noticed in reviews of other bedside commodes. I was delighted!PS. I was going to ship this unit home (we had been using it while travelling with an older person) for use when needed or the next trip, but UPS shipping would have been $82, so I donated the sterilized repackaged item (breakdown and repacking took only about 15 minutes) to Goodwill.

Very Useful and Sturdy
Very stable and sturdy. This commode was easy to assemble with no tools needed. It folds for storage although I left ours assembled minus the toilet seat and bucket in our garage. It was also quite economical. It is extremely helpful to have the raised height to limit bending and offers good support when going from a sitting to a standing position, especially for post surgery recovery patients. It did fit both my husband (nearly 300 pounds) and I (less weight) although it would be even better if the width of the frame were able to adjust 1-2 inches wider. With the guide tube in place, it is difficult to wipe after a bowel movement unless the patient can tilt to reach. This commode comes with both the guide tube (which we used over the toilet) and a bucket container for bedside use.

Saved us in a pinch!!!
No one in my family actually needs a bedside commode yet. But recently we had a serious problem with our sewer. Short version is it had to be replaced and due to extenuating circumstances, it was going to take a week. O_OThen I had a brainstorm and ordered this product. I figured we could use scoopable kitty litter with it and it would be at least better than what we were doing (don't ask!)I came quickly and man! It was easy to put together. You just have to swing the arms around, adjust the legs, and snap the seat and back rest in place. The bucket is removable. I was done in 10 minutes. This thing is comfortable. More so than the toilet because you can lean back. It is so easy to keep clean, too.The sewer has been repaired but we keep it as a standby for say when someone is in the bathroom and someone has an emergency. I would have no qualms about letting a frail loved one use this product. I know first hand it is safe, strong, and comfortable. The kitty litter trick worked very well with it.

This is very useful
This is a very useful commode. My mother is 99 years old and hurt her knee. This chair is designed with another adjustments that is fits her 200 pound, 5'11" frame and she can lift herself out of it. At first this sat close to her bed. When she got healthier it was moved into the bathroom. Now it sits over the toilet. You just take the bucket off the bottom of it and move it back over the toilet. No attachments, super easy to pull out to clean, perfect control of height and arm supports. I also bought a FoldEasy toilet surround support aid. I should have saved my money. This commode makes a much better toilet surround aid plus you can put it back together to have a commode. This is nice and sturdy--like you need with a 200 pound mother-- holds nicely to both rugs and tile flooring. If you need a commode, take a good look at this one. It was one of the better things I bought when my mother was released from rehab.
