This only puts out one amp or 1000 milliamps. I was thinking about getting this and checked my LED semi-concealed light strip's power supply. It says 6 amps, not 1 amp. You can have a device that draws less amps than your power supply and everything will be fine. If something draws more amps the power supply will struggle and likely overheat. Even if it works, it will fail early. No matter what length you might 'trim' a light strip to, you should still be able to supply at least as many amps as the original supply and if you have more amps available in the power supply that's fine, the device just won't use them. Don't guess and hope you're within the parameters of your power supply. Either check the manufacturers specs online or look at the old, failed power supply for specifications. Too many amps are OK, too many volts (or too few) are not. Too few amps (1 Amp = 1000 Milliamps) is not OK under any circumstances.
