Don't like that it comes with dye to color part of the reed. Why couldn't it come with dyed reed?

Made this kit with my 4rd grader. She was able to do most of the work with some assistance and supervision. Quality of materials is nice and the finished product looks almost identical to picture - much to my surprise and delight!The instructions provided with the kit are complete and accurate, but a bit terse in places. You might have to look on youtube to get clarification of some of the steps. But, if you can assemble a piece of IKEA furniture, you should be able to figure everything out.Also, be aware that the large strip at the bottom of the basket does not come with pre-painted designs, and the kit does not include specific instructions or materials for making the designs. They simply say "stencil or paint the apples on the wide strip" after the basket is complete.

I have been making baskets for years and thought, why not try a kit. Instructions were Ok but I found the quality of materials could have been better.

This is a very nice basket weaving kit. It would be good for beginngers who are crafty or who have had at least one basket class. It would be nice for displaying but I ordered two to make for friends at Christmas and will fill them with several small gifts. The price is good and it was mailed promptly.Kay

I felt the materials were inferior. The ash strip was split and I had to cut it down to a smaller size to get it to work on the basket. The directions were good however and easy to follow. I'm not sure I would order again.

Poplar strip not included with kit. Total waste of money unless I order the strip separately since I'm past the return policy deadline. I hesitate to order any other kits from this company. My trust has been violated. Guess this is a sign that I should follow patterns and order the materials needed and not rely on kits. You see I ordered the kit prior to taking a class. After the class last weekend, I thought basket making would be a fun new hobby. That's when I opened the kit and discovered it was incomplete. I won't let this experience dampen my interest however. Buyer beware!

Great basket pattern. I have recreated it several times and each time tweaked it with a different look to the finished basket.
