Review: Works 1,000 times better than the Black Flag version. - I used these last fall, in michigan. They worked great. I had one from last season that I started using in late august, within a week, in my garage, by the trash can it was pretty much covered in flies. Like black with flies, could hardly see any of the color from the trap. We leave the garage doors open - thus easy entry. So as that one filled, I went to order more but they were out of stock so I tried the Black Flag version - I kid you not, I did not catch a single fly after two weeks. So I ordered more of these but had to wait a couple weeks, finally got them, threw away the Black Flag version (with no flies) and hung one of these - catchin flies again. I still find it strange I didn't catch a single fly with the Black Flag - I don't know, there isn't much room for operator error for these. Open... Hang.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: are the traps catching humming birds?**
A: No, these are for INDOOR use only, so no potential hard to hummingbirds.  There is an outdoor version that WAS catching up small birds.  This company collaborated with the Audobon Socity and all outdoor traps now being sold have "bird traps (basically, plastic trips that encase the sticky part every few inches) to avoid harming any birds.  If you are using these traps outdoors, look for the ones designed for outdoor use, please.

**Q: Made in USA?**
A: The package does say made in USA, although I didn't see anything like /where/ the factory is or anything. They work so well they're definitely worth the buy!

**Q: Is there a brown foul smelling packet that you put on the sticky part to attract the flies?**
A: No.  You hang it up right out of the package.  It is already sticky.  There isn't a foul odor.  I haven't noticed any smell at all.

**Q: Does it attract gnats?**
A: I got it primarily for our gnat problem.  Not only did it not get gnats, it didn't get anything!  Waste of money for me!

I don’t know which I hate more, flies or mosquitos. Yes, mosquitos bite. I spent 15 years living in Thailand, and let me tell you, they have MORE than their share of them, but since I spent most of my time indoors, for the most part, I wasn’t bothered by them. My screens kept them out, Flies on the other hand were always quick to zip through a door, no matter how quickly you opened and close it. It’s AMAZING how much torment a single f***ing fly can inflict! These stupid insects simply will not leave you alone! Now I’m back in the USA and am STILL plagued by them. I am very careful about disposing of trash. I don’t just throw food scraps into my garbage can. I first put them up into small bags. If what I’m disposing of is particularly stinky, I may double or even TRIPLE bag everything up. My apartment’s garbage can are outside, two flights of stairs above me. I have a seriously bad heart, so disposing of garbage isn’t much fun, but hey, I just have to deal with it. Anyway, the area where the garbage can is has become a haven for flies. I mean this area is downright NASTY ☹ the maintenance man has put up fly strips, which when covered with hundreds of flies is BEYOND nasty! Even though I’ve done my best to quickly enter and exit my apartment, a few flies always manage to follow me through my door! Once inside, they then proceed to make my life a living hell! They continually swarm all over me and no amount of swishing and swatting keep these things off of me. Even as I write this, one of these creatures is all over me! Naturally, I turned to Amazon to look for a solution. I didn’t want fly strips, so after looking through what was available. That’s when I decided to try a RESCUE! Non-Toxic TrapStik for Flies – Indoor Hanging Fly Trap. After unboxing this device, I carefully read the instructions, and hung it where the flies were congregating… next to my front door, next to my sunny bay window. This thing as been hanging for a week now. Guess how many flies this thing has caught. Would you believe ZERO? Not ONE stinking fly!!! These things are deliberately avoiding their doom deliberately while continuing to torment me!!! I still refuse to use a poisonous insect spray inside my apartment, and so the war between man and beast continues. All I can tell you is to NOT buy one of these, as they are utterly USELESS!!! I don’t often have a failed product from Amazon, but this is a rare case of one, ☹
