I had Raclette many years ago at my sister’s house in Germany. The time had come to try this here in the US with my own extended family. 6 of us gathered round this grill for Easter dinner. As an older person I appreciate the fact that it is light and easy to assemble. Even though this is an 8 person grill, realistically it’s comfortable enough for 4 persons only. I had unpacked it a week prior, then bought an additional 4 person grill “Geneva”. That was a great decision. I made it easy on myself for our first try. I bought a cheese tray with already sliced cheeses at Costco, and a package of small sausages. I boiled small potatoes ahead of time and kept them warm in a crock pot. I offered asparagus, Brussels sprouts, and various condiments, including tomatoes, olives, cilantro and dill. Everybody loved it! Since we have a Vegetarian in the family I used the smaller Geneva grill for sausages only, and the bigger “Matterhorn” grill for everything else. Things couldn’t have worked out any better! I’ll use the smaller Geneva Grill when just the hubby and I are dining. Cleanup was easy. I’m looking forward to my next grilling party!

Love my raclette grill. I only wish it had a longer cord, but I guess that is what extension cords are for!

Really, really like the product. However it is more appropriate for group of 4 or 5. Too crowded with 8 people.

That appliance could be perfect for round tables. It is for 8 people and the wooden imitation bottom is good looking, but apart from that, the triangle dishes are tiny, not a slice of cheese can decently fit in any of them, the accessories are poorly made , and it is huge to store. Supposedly, the brand is specialized in raclette, but this appliance is not their best example to me... especially at such a price...

I bought this because I went to a party and they had a Raclette. I had never seen one or heard of one before. I was impressed with the whole concept of the friends cooking , chatting and eating!! This by far one of the best things that I have purchased. It's easy to clean and doesn't really take up much room. I had a bunch of my girlfriends over and they bought one for their kids for Christmas!!! Lots of entertaining fun!!

Good size, nice finish, oval shape is so perfect...but to put the temperature control button and the on/off indicator light UNDER THE HANDLE where you can't see it is ridiculous!!!!! You have no idea if it's on or what temp you're setting to. It's not visible without bending way over with your flashlight on. Who came up with that idea??????

Indoor grilling and melted cheese for sandwiches so amazing

Awesome grill, but we do not recommend the cast aluminum top. The plate warps and slides off the base when it gets hot. We are afraid some will be burned. We are sending it back and trying another Swissmar grill with a cast iron plate. Great temperature and very easy to clean. We live in Switzerland and purchased this for our vacation home in the US. It is fun sharing the swiss tradition with US friends and family. :-)

They are just not making them like they use to. I paid 80$ back in2008 for a similar raclette but the top grill was double thickness then what they are now

I chose a raclette with a good rating but got very disappointed. We used it three times now and each time we take it out of the box it stinks like chemicals and fills the whole room. The raclette dishes I threw away because they are even worse and I don't want to put food in there. I replaced it with my old raclette dishes. I am at the point right now to throw the whole thing out because it is disgusting and can't be healthy how bad it stinks.
