Happybuy Hot Water Recirculating Pump, 93W 110V Water Circulator Circulating Pump NPT 3/4" w/Brass Fittings, 3-speed Control Recirculation 9.5 Gpm RS15-6 for Electric Water Heater System

This pump has been on 24/7 operating as a hot water recirculating pump for 3 weeks now. I have a dedicated return line at the furthest point in my system, and this little guy has been great. By 3 seconds on any faucet in the house, the water is hot. I hooked this up to a kill-a-watt meter to measure how much it would cost me in electricity to run the pump 24 hours a day. Turns out, at 11 cents per kilowatt hour, this little guy will only cost $41 a year. The pump seems to be built well, and is quite heavy. Remember that when using as a hot water recirculating pump, this pump will get at least as hot as the water you are running through it. In my case, I threw out the fittings and rubber seals that came with the pump. They are junk! I replaced them with brass equivalents, but still had to double the number of rubber seals to 4 in order to stop leaks. Don't forget to bleed the pump to prime it by turning the big sloted screw on the pump. Just turn counter clockwise until enough water comes out and the flow engages, then close It has 3 speeds, but I use speed 1, and it worked perfectly.

Spectacular. Did not want the pump on top of the water heater where it was in a closet with no power outlet. Installed the pump underneath the furthest bathroom sink cabinet. This pump kit excels in the fact that it includes the 3/4" National Pipe Thread (NPT) Female Pipe Thread (FPT) to 1/2" NPT Male Pipe Thread (MPT) adapters. These alone are $10 each on amazon. My underneath sink had 1/2" NPT FPT hoses, some homes have 3/8" NPT so that would require new hoses or adapter. With 3 1/2" NPT Hoses from Home Depot, and pump kit's 2 adapters made it possible to have it all underneath the sink. Very silent pump, but if you want maximum silence and no vibration, amazon has 4" x 4" anti-vibration pads made of cork or rubber. Also attached the pump to a TP-Link Smart Plug HS110 with Energy Monitoring. So the pump turns on for 15 minutes every 1.5 hours from 6am to 11pm, local wifi no cloud internet, TP-Link are one of few brands that don't require cloud connection. With my current power rate, for approximately 6 months only due to winter... I would end up paying no more than $5 per year in pump power costs. The only worry is the thermostatic valves, that cost way too much and are known to fail early depending on how hot the water is set at. Grundfos and Watts are the only two companies that provide $50-$60 valves. Other than that, worth the setup.

Pump most certainly got the job done in my hot water recirculation project. It's pretty quiet, too. Outside of the room it is in, it is very difficult to tell when it is on. The selectable flow rates allowed me to easily control the flow needed. Been using it for a year now with no problems. Use an Alexa-controlled plug to turn it on and a hardware coil timer to ensure it doesn't run too long. Plug turning off resets the hardware timer.

Pump is working well after several weeks. Initially I tried to plumb it in by using 3/4 inch to 1/2 inch adaptors (Shark Bite) . The threads did not work. Next I tried the supplied adaptors which took it down to 1/2 inch. I tried 1/2 inch to 1/2 inch NPT SharkBites. I could not get the thread to match. A plumber came out and took out the Shark Bites (including two 45's that I used to replace a 90 degree angle) and it started to work and had been pumping hot water for a month now. Works as expected.

I opened the box and used it for the first time day before yesterday. Then, yesterday I wanted to use it again but, it would not pump. I have had it For a year and one month and only opened the box 2 days ago. So, I don’t guess I’m expecting anything except to share this information with you. It did seem to work as advertised one day and not at all next.

The pump arrived sooner than expected. Was packed nicely in a box which fit in my mailbox. I normally have to run a gallon of cold water in the kitchen before it starts getting warm. I had previously installed a 3/8" copper return line to the hot water heater so I could circulate hot water continuously. Without going into a lot of detail I was able to do this with my first water heater without a pump but instead using convection. After changing the heater a few years ago the convection did not work. So I started looking for a pump but could not find one that did not cost an arm and leg. But then I found the RS15-6 pump which is more than reasonably priced. I will be installing (hopefully) this week and will add how it works out. BTW I was happily surprised that my original install did not use any more gas for the water heater than before circulating. In the summer only the water heater uses gas so I was able to compare previous years usage. I did insulated all the piping including the return line. Guessing that running all that cold water to get hot used extra heating.

The pump seems pretty good. I did notice it was hard to get primed, even with alot of water weight behind it, but once it did seems great and quiet. I was disappointed that the fittings it was supposed to come with were not there and the threads on the pump itself I had to put a tap on to clean them up get the forst thread even started. The forst thread on the pump itself wasn't even there it stopped short. Good construction it seems but poor quality workmanship.

I used this as a replacement for my $500 hot tub recirc pump. It works great. Good price.

Initially it works well, virtually silent - easy to install - seems to be a quality unit my last pump lasted 25 years going 24 hours a day! Lets see how this one is doing in a few years! The garden hose adaptors to 1/2" NPT were a piece of junk and I replaced them with good brass ones

A small leak on the output had to reseal a few times using it for a recirc on a wood boiler worked all season without issue pumping 190° Rusty dirty water. can't beat it for the price point

Pump works really well but you will need to purchase “garden hose” brass fittings to properly install on 1/2 inch copper pipe. The black fittings that are supplied with the unit are garbage... no matter what you do they leak. I eventually took the pump to a plumbing store and found the proper fittings.
