Very thin paper quality
I am very disappointed with this sketchbook. I paid more for it do to the Moleskin name; I figured I couldn’t go wrong. The write-up states the paper is heavy weight, but doesn’t list the gauge. It’s ridiculous! It is so thin it feels like cheap copier paper. My first thought was it wouldn’t hold up to an eraser. The soft cover is a piece of black paper attached with a very thin line of glue. It won’t last long. I’m returning this item for a less expensive sketch pad.

Overpriced- great paper but poor binding and not a lot of pages for the money.
Expensive for what they are; not a lot of pages for the price. Wonderful quality of paper, truly, but NOT great binding, pages come loose really easily and quickly with normal use. Love the slim sleek design, nice to carry or pack, but if you’re going to use them for urban sketching or something else that needs a lot of portability just know that even gentle turning of the pages will very quickly work pages loose. And they’re really quite expensive. :-(

Nice feel, but not great for inking over pencils
A lot of pocket sketchbooks feel like garbage to draw on and make ugly lines but not this one. The soft one fits nicely in a pocket without feeling like a brick or something uncomfortable like that. I'd say it's very similar to my personal favorite, the Strathmore Drawing paper, which is also a similar tone. Definitely not as good since this DOES NOT hold up to erasing at all. Your pens WILL fade. The pages also like to come loose on top with general use a bit. Not bad, just be aware you might want to use a kneaded eraser since it's less abrasive and if you use ink, it doesn't bleed through but if you like doing pencil and erasing after your black lines will pretty much turn into a light gray. A dip pen with sumi ink worked fairly well despite this flaw though but I can't take my ink bottle and pen nibs like I can a fountain pen, which fades badly after erasing, which isn't usually a problem. If you want to just use pencil, works fine as long as you are careful not to rip or tear the page and oddly enough erasing doesn't affect it nearly as much as ink and you can still layer afterwards. If you like to ink right over your blue pencil or don't care about not erasing or having to go back over your lines again it feels nice to ink on as well, just be careful.

Perfect for sketching.
The paper in the soft cover is not as thick as the hard cover. However it is great for sketching and drawing. Light pen would work but not really heavy inking or marker as it would bleed. The glue holds up if you aren’t rough with it so pages stay in place but can be easily removed. This is a large sketchbook that opens landscape not portrait so you’ll definitely need a surface or table to work on.

Note that this one is a PAD, not a sketchbook.
I wanted, and got, smooth paper that is great for fountain pen drawing. It's my own fault that I didn't pay enough attention to realize I was getting a pad and not a sketchbook. No problem; I will still make good use of it.

Great for an on-the-go sized item...
I should have purchased 2 of the larger size of this item it is a bit small for my A5 Lihit...(it moves around inside of the pocket).Overall though, it's truly functional (on a smaller scale)...and no bleed-through!

Good size, could be more sturdy
I like the shape and size of this book. The cover is unexpectedly flimsy compared to other moleskin books I have owned so would need protecting if you took it out in your bag. Also the first page nearly fell out after the first use, it is attached by about a quarter of the page, the other pages are ok.I write and draw with a permanent fine line black pen and the paper takes this well. I use sharpie markers sometimes, I have found the metallic ink sits on top of the paper but the colours soak through and make the other side of the page unusable.I haven’t tried any watercolour as the paper does not seem heavy enough to take it. I am aware moleskin make other books for this purpose.I like the colour of the paper and the smoothness makes it easy to use my ink pens on it.

Impressed with the paper, perfect for Instagram drawings
Really nice, I used this for Inktober on Instagram, so the square size was perfect. I used pencil, fineliners and copic markers on it and all worked well. I just put a single piece of regular paper underneath when drawing and nothing went through. The first page has almost come out though, It would benefit from a more rigid front cover. The back is nice and thick cardboard but the front cover is flimsy.Quite expensive, but I would love another.

Nice product with an expensive name but cheap Pads with the same quality are available
Basically I just wanted a moleskine sketchpad to see what all the fuss is about. To be honest it is no better or worse than many other sketch pads at considerably less but saying that the price I paid on Amazon is almost half of what you would pay in the shop so if you want one of these I would say go for it but to be fair buy a cheaper sketchpad you won't go far wrong

Good quality sketchbook
My daughter sits and sketches constantly and she wanted a decent sketchbook. I misjudged the size of this, it is small, but she is so happy with the quality of it that she asked me for a bigger one for Christmas.

Great size and shape. Poor paper quality.
Love the size, shape and cover of this little book, but the paper quality is awful! I've had cheap note books with better paper. Unless your only going to use it for writting I wouldn't recommend this book, can't stand up to felt tips or littlest bit of paint sadly. I had to buy another book for the purpose sadly.
