In particular, the brass and both gunmetal colours are absolutely great for painting minis. The GM blue provides a nice base for good technicals or texture if you're trying to get a cool plasma or ice effect. The GM grey provides a nice slightly darker silver than Citadel's leadbelcher which allows you to use the leadbelcher with some contrast to provide a nice chrome and use the Vallejo GM grey to make a similar yet distinctive silver for guns/weapons or rivets. The brass is the best actual gold/deep yellow I have found as yellow is an annoying colour to get right and not look overly matte or too bright. The other colours are good and mix well. 10/10 would buy if your minis use a lot of silver and gold highlights.

My main concern with this paint set was if it would create the effect I wanted with metallic colors. My experience in crafting previously had been with enamels, spray paint, buffing wax, ink or paint pens.From the very first time using the product, the result was exactly what I had been looking for in a paint; the rich gloss of metal and color perfect, and the clean-up fast and easy.Finally, I have the ease of application and quick drying time of acrylic, combined with the realistic shine of enamel.This purchase was in combination with a new brush set (already reviewed) and the difference in having the exactly correct materials and the right tools has restarted my interest in crafts in my recent retirement.

My only complaint is that a few of the paints were not sealed. 4 of them had that soft "crack" sound when first opening and the other 4 did not. 1 cap was not fastened completely or correctly (see picture), and left quite a mess inside the cap with clumps of dried paint all over. I won't bother with return/replacement as non of the paints appear to be dried or anything and all else appears good.Overall, that paints seems super great! I will be using them to paint miniatures. I tested the colors out swatching them on a paper (see pictures). As I did not feel like cleaning a brush, I used a piece of card stock to smear a drop or 2 of paint. The samples were done on plain white card stock. The paints spread very smoothly and have great color. The shimmer in these have a really nice light refraction which stand out at those certain angles. I don't know what the compound is to make the shimmer, but it is extremely consistent throughout the paint (as is, there are no spots more concentrated or lacking that shimmer). I am excited to try these out on some minis! At the time of writing, this pack was $15.99 with Prime shipping, which arrived on time in 2 days. I think this is an amazing value.I have not come across this yet, but I hope to find this same pack of colors but without the shimmer. I am sceptical that I will be able to make a worn and weathered look with these and that the shimmer might shine through washes and such.

product works and looks great when applied to projects

Expensive, but really nice paint. The metallic colors are true to their description. The gold really looks gold. Each drop has lots of metal flake in it and it creates a great sparkle on your project, especially when the sun shines on it.This stuff is thick and heavy, and for airbrush use, you need to thin it heavy. It's even a little thick for plain brushing. It worked better for me with just a slight thin for the hand brush. Maybe it will go a long way and be worth the expense by thinning it.

These metallic paints look so good on miniature figures. Great group of colors. These paints aren't the easiest to apply to the model but I think that is the nature of metallic paints. There's a bit of a learning curve for thinning and applying these paints. I would recommend any miniature painter to have these in their tool box. Instant shine and eye catching color.
