A little disappointed
This one has most of Athena's stories but not the one I was hoping for were Athena adopts a half snake half human and eases him as her son.

So Good!
This is just about the best realization of Greek mythology storytelling and the graphic novel format. George O'Connor does such a wonderful job of using the illustrations and narrative in a compatible way that it actually makes the myths come alive for me in a way they never have (and I've been reading them for about 25 years). He also does a great job of illustrating the historical chicken vs. egg arguments about the name "Pallas" without belaboring them. I especially love the way that he tells the stories of the Moriae and Perseus so efficiently. Great character development all around.Btw, my 6 yo kids love this series, and I highly recommend it to parents interested in introducing their kids to graphic novels and the tales of legend!

A nice introduction into Greek Mythology
I picked this book up for my 8th grader for an English assingment on Athena. As a history teacher, I love finding things for struggling readers, this and other graphic novels fit the bill for many who needs the visuals while reading. There are a few "inaccuracies" (again I am a teacher) but I will not highlight those. I am thinking of getting the rest of the series for my daughter/classroom, again there are a great introduction into a subject that is close to my heart. Thank you.

Instant favorites! A great supplement to 9-year-old boys' love of Percy Jackson - but excellent on their own.
This book is a fantastic deal for such an exceptional quality book (this is my translation of what my 9-year-old son said "this book is so cheap for being so good!"). These are instant favorites for my 3rd grade twin boys and are a great supplement for their love of the Percy Jackson series. Great, super speedy, delivery of high quality books.

Great way to read Greek mythology
Great way to introduce Greek mythology to school age kids. The artwork is really cool and the text isn’t overwhelming for kids. My daughter was really excited to read these!

Comic looking book-fun to read
My 9 year old loved this comic looking book. Read it too quick but the good news is his school library doesn’t have this one so he donated it. He tested on it at school for Lexile credit and the class is happy they have they can read it! Great book great pictures!

Well Executed
The book is a good introduction to Athena. Perhaps one of the best compliments for a writer is to observe that their work left the reader wanting there to be more. The book includes some of the darker aspects of some of the stories surrounding Athena so parents of younger children might wish to read it first.

The Gods, both stirring and humane
Both my daughter ( 6 years ) and I really enjoyed this book. I've read it to her several times and she is now working through it by herself. The story is well known , but retold in an exciting and dramatic manner. O'Connor succeeds in humanising the Greek Gods and making their triumphs and tragedies something that we can all relate to. I understand that this series will continue and I plan to buy every one of them. The first book in the series 'Zeus' is just as good.

Not a single story like the previous volume but a sort of collections of Athena's adventures
I liked this less than the previous volume. If Zeus: King of the Gods told a single story, this one is like an anthology which presents various short stories all centered on Athena.I like the first part, the one about Athena's birth and her mother but the other ones seemed a bit too rushed for my taste. Maybe O'Connor should have focused on a single story and develop it properly. I didn't find development in here.I'm not a big fan of O'Connor's art because the colors are too dark and the drawings aren't kawaii. Still it serves its purpose.I've already bought volume #3, Hera: The Goddess and her Glory. After I read that, I'll decide if I should continue with the series or not.
