Review: Works great! - I purchased a few of these humidifiers for my acoustic guitar and ukulele. They have done great and helped keep my instruments at around 45% RH in a pretty dry desert climate that stays around 6-20% humidity year round. I was pleasantly surprised by this humidifier. It is easy to use, the plastic is sturdy, easy to refill and it’s small enough for the pocket of a tenor ukulele case. I also use one in the case of an acoustic guitar as well. Design is good and I have not encountered leaks or other issues with this humidifier. As long as you do not absolutely drench the sponge you can get it pretty saturated without problems. Another review had said the humidifier doesn’t come with a sponge so I wasn’t sure. The package does come with a sponge but it may be easy to miss since the sponge is dried out and squished to fit in the box. All you have to do is run it under some water and it will expand in a pretty large sponge that fills the entire humidifier. Read the instructions and you’ll see. Overall I am happy with this purchase for <$10 it can’t be beat and is a lot cheaper than constantly replacing humidipaks or other chemical humidifiers, especially if you get more than one.

Get some bigger velcro if you plan to affix it semipermanently in your case. Just don’t put it in the little accessory compartment in your case — it won’t be of any help there.

**Q: Do they make replacement sponges in this size?**
A: D'Addario does not offer replacement sponges for this size. They do for the larger size for guitar, but not this size. Your choices would appear to be either buy the larger sponges (they're on here in packs of 3 - item GHRS) and cut them down to fit, or by another humidifier.

**Q: Hello, I have a form fitting case for my erhu (Chinese violin) and would need to know the exact dimensions of this humidifier to see whether it fits?**
A: The humidifier itself is 3x2x1. 5x5x1.5 are the dimensions of its packaging.

**Q: Does this work in a soft canvass case?**
A: Remember that the sponge needs to be damp but not soggy and the use of distilled water. I have used it in one of my soft cases and have not seen any mildew. I have been using the humidifier for only three months, during the summer, and so far it is what I needed.

**Q: Would this work for ukulele**
A: Yes this would work great for a ukulele!
