Overwhelming Odds Paperback – January 1, 2008

I’m excited about reading this book. I’ve read both books by John O’Leary and I’m really looking forward to reading the story from his parents perspective. The free excerpt on line had me crying.

Loved the details and stories from the parents point of view. Lot's of tears shed at this story & it goes to show the importance of having faith in God along with having great people around you to help in times of trouble. Make sure you read his other books - "On Fire" and his new one, "In Awe"... John O'Leary is a difference maker and I can see where he got so many great tools from his parents. :-)

I had already read On Fire by John O’Leary when I discovered his mother had written this book. I though, eh, same story different perspective. How wrong could I have been? I couldn’t put this book down. The inspiration leaps off these pages and I must say I was a little misty-eyed when I finished.

This is a wonderful book! I wanted to read it after reading "On Fire" by John O'Leary, the boy on the cover. What this family went through, and their amazing trust in God through it all is inspiring. It easily deserves 5 stars for the book itself. Unfortunately, the Kindle version of this has so many errors that I had to remove a star, which is a shame. I have read many Kindle books and a few errors here and there do not bother me in the least. In this book there are many, many words with added spaces in them, which is extremely distracting and annoying. If it was lower priced, I may not mind as much, but $9 for a Kindle book is high for me. I almost want to return the book for a refund, but it's such a good story. Perhaps there is some way for it to be corrected and updated. Unless you don't mind annoying spaces in several words on each page, you may want to buy the hard copy instead.

During this time in 2020 when life has been ever changing with the pandemic and riots , this book puts life back into perspective. The testimonies of faith are so encouraging.

John O'Leary defied the odds in living after he was burned on 98%of his body. This courageous telling of his ordeal by his parentshelps us understand why. This is a testament to faith and to thehuman spirit. I recommend this to anyone who hasfelt held back by the odds in his or her life. O'Leary has gone ontoa successful adult life as a husband, father and wildly successfulmotivational speaker.

This was an amazing book. I read this book after I read On Fire. I highly recommend reading both books. This book was written by John’s parents and On Fire was written by their son John.

Great book!!! What an awesome testimony!! My heart broke for John and family as reading book! Praise the Lord for answered prayers.
