In this sprawling, imposing, and yet somewhat whimsical set from LEGO’s Alpha Team line, the nefarious Ogel is working on a plan to freeze time itself. Obviously, the Alpha Team can’t allow such a thing to happen so team members Dash and Arrow show up to foil the plot, dodging ice orbs along the way. A flying car, a rumbling ATV, and special retractable claws add to the action and the fun. Clear step by step instructions show how to construct the fortress but since these are LEGO bricks, young builders have an infinite amount of options to create whatever configuration catches their imagination. LEGO’s recent fascination with creating storylines for all its toys can occasionally make for a confusing experience but you don’t need to know who Ogel is or what he’s up to in order to enjoy this set. --Charlie Williams
