The flat iron doesn’t close equally across the plate. The tip closes but leaves an opening at the opposite end. So half of you hair falls right through the flat iron. If you want the entire plate to close equally you have to press the iron closed hard then half of your hair is pulled really hard as you try to pull the iron through your hair. I get a good amount of breakage. It takes me a while to do my hair. Once done it does finish your hair better then other flat irons I’ve used, but it is no comparison to the white and yellow model GK discontinued. I unfortunately bought this at full price before it just went on sale and it’s not worth the full price. I saw the other reviews not understand how to use the touch screen.. that confused me too at first but there is directions written on the box the iron is shipped in. It auto locks after a few seconds and tells you how to unlock it. So overall, it’s a decent flat iron. Works well in the end but hard to use. If you buy this thinking it works as good as the last model you’ll be disappointed.

Touch screen doesn’t work well. I can’t get mine to shut off without unplugging it. I can usually only change the temperature when I first plug it in.
