Fun way to practice Italian!
I am an adult learner of Italian. I find reading children's books is good practice. The difficulty level was perfect, not too hard, not too easy. Plus, the story and places of interest (I've been to Rome many times), very well described. It was fun reading this book

Beautiful illustrations, narrative is too long-winded for children
I bought this book for my 14 month old who for some reason unknown to us, adores cats. I speak to her in Italian so I thought this would be a wonderful combination of language and her love of cats. I think the book is marketed for 3 year olds and older (I can't recall) and my daughter LOVES it because of the pictures of cats. My one issue with it is the issue I have with all Italian children's books - it is RIDICULOUSLY LONG-WINDED. I have never read a children's book for children under the age of 8 that is so long-winded. I'm talking THREE PARAGRAPHS of narrative in ONE language on each page. It seems that the writers did not consider their audience - children. Most children's books have catchy and memorable refrains or repetitive and reinforced vocabulary; this book is a narrative about two cats who discover their native city of Rome, get lost, and find their way home. Easy enough - but the description of how that all happens is a SNOOZER.Pros:-beautiful pictures of cats and historic spots in Rome.-educational if you want to introduce Rome to your child.Cons:-flimsy book - would work better if it were a board book-far to verbose and long-winded for a child's attention span.I will add that when my daughter sees the book lying on the table, she gets excited and wants me to turn the pages so she can look at the cats, but once I'm one paragraph into it, her eyes glaze over and she wants me to turn the page so she can look at the pictures.

Que maravillosa aventura, me ha gustado muchísimo, ya que he podido repasar mi italiano así como he podido recordar todos los lugares maravillosos que he recorrido en Roma.

Our 3 1/2 year old loves this book. We were planning a trip to Rome, so we read this to him before we went & he learned about the various sites - the Colosseum, etc. so he knew in advance what we'd be seeing & consequently he was really looking forward to Rome. He kept his eye out for Ottavia & we did see a cat that looked just like her. This was a great book as a preview in preparing him for his trip. We didn't really read the Italian half of the book, but we're saving it for when he gets a little older & starts doing foreign languages.

What a great book, I used this as a read aloud in my class and my students loved it!!! It is a cute story about a kitten who gets lost in Rome and all the places she visits. Great for introducing students to Roman landmarks. I saw the author wrote one on Pompeii as well! I can’t wait to read it. I wish she would write one for Florence and Venice as well.

Quite a challenge
Maybe this is because I’m just a beginner in Italian, but this was quite a challenge, especially for a kids book. Definitely helps improve your skills, but it isn’t very easy to read.
