Brown Sugar Bacon Jerky Candied Bacon

It's delicious, but pretty expensive considering there is only 1 serving in the bag--approximately four slices of bacon.

Probably my saddest bacon experience ever. I love bacon. I have had a lot of mediocre bacon. Hotel bacon. Precooked bacon. Bacon from a can. Bacon from a bag. Questionable bacon. Sad restaurant bacon...but I have never been as disappointed by a bacon as I have by this one. One of my favorite podcasts rapsodised wildly about this product so I had high hopes for it. It certainly looks delicious in the picture, all dark golden brown. Glazed to a perfect caramelized deliciosness. Look at how proudly they stand up in their homey glass jars. This is a bacon that does a pig proud. That is not what arrived by along shot. What arrived was thickish slabs of limp pig. In fact the only way that I could have gotten what arrived to look like that picture was by backing it with plywood and shellacking the whole thing in 5-6 coats of varnish. The product that arrived was unpleasantly greasy with sugar crystals that might have seen an oven long enough to be terrified into staying put on the slick surface. The entire inside of the bag felt like it had been used by a grease elemental as a sauna. The bacon was flabby. One entire slice was essentially inedible because it was simply one long strip of undercooked fat. No meat just fat. Had I chosen to I could have likely squeezed enough grease out of it to fry an entire pan of potatoes and likely an egg or three. There is absolutely no excuse for a pig to suffer for this product.

The picture of this product on Amazon shows very nice, crisp, candied brown bacon jerky. As you can see, this is not at all what I got. It was broken and crumbled and looks terrible. I bought this for a charcuterie board for our Fire Department Awards Ceremony and cannot use this product. I contacted the seller and was told to return the product and they would issue a refund. It will cost more money to send it back than it is worth. I am not using my money to send this substandard product back. I went to try to return it via the Amazon Return Policy and it says this product is ineligible for return. I guess they put it that way because they know they're sending out a substandard product. Don't waste your time or money on this. My advice is to buy some bacon and brown sugar and put it in an air fryer and make it yourself! That's what I should have done in the first place. I would have rated this a zero, but there isn't a zero on Amazon ratings. UPDATE: I was totally disgusted with the way this was handled so I called Amazon to report and what I felt was almost a scam. Amazon jumped in and contacted the seller and asked them to send me a return label for this product so I would not have to pay out of my pocket for the return of this product. Instead, the seller just credited back the money I paid. They could have it back because I definitely do not want it. But they chose not to take it back so I had to update it to two stars because even though I had problems with them, Amazon got it right and worked hard to make them rectify the situation.

Not enough product. For the price.

It was so delicious!! I used some as a garnish for deviled eggs and ate the rest. 10/10

While the candied bacon was tasty, the price point was a little steep for what consisted of eight pieces of bacon. As I smoke a lot of products, I'm sure I can duplicate this product and double the volume for less than half the price. It was fun to have tried it, however way to costly.
