Very affordable and good quality choice!!
I absolutely love this curling iron. I’ve used it for a lot of my wigs. It doesn’t take a long time to heat up and I love how versatile the heating settings are. It doesn’t matter what length your hair is,It’ll still get the job done. Each time I’ve used it the curls have come out very bouncy as if i got it don’t by the professionals. appearance wise I liked the gold, it didn’t burn off or look crusty even after a few uses. it’s not too heavy and I like how it has the little handle so I can set it on my counter without worrying about it falling on my foot or anything. ( the pictures below are a few of the wigs I’ve curled with this curling iron.)

Love Hot tools, works great!
Love Hot Tools gold plated curling irons, I’m a retired hairdresser. I’ve been using these for years and love them. They recently stopped carrying them at the beauty supply store. I did order the regular length barrel and I accidentally got the extended length 1 inch longer, at first I was thinking about returning it for the regular length one, but I tried it and decided I really liked it and it gets hotter than the regular one, 450 instead of 430. They last for year’s, I highly recommend them. I got the three-quarter inch which is for a medium curl. Easy on your hair. Heats up quickly, flashes to let you know when heated to your desired temperature. Plus dual voltage for travel!

Best iron EVER!
I'm 72 and have used irons a long time. Most wouldn't get hot enough to hold the curl for long, which is a big problem for below the shoulder length hair that is thin and has little to no body on top but a little body ears down to the ends. This iron took my hair that looked horrible because I had just started steroid pills and flexeril for a pinched nerve in my neck, coupled with a sinus flare-up which left me just plain miserable. So, my hair after 2 days of "out of it mentality" was in really bad shape. Took me maybe between 15 and 20 minutes to try out my brand new curling iron. First thing I noticed when sliding the hair onto the rod and clamping it, was that, it happened quickly and painlessly. No pulling hair because of the clamp. The clamp held my hair neatly as I curled my hair around it. A big plus. Everything went so easily. I returned "my last ordered iron" because the clamp wouldn't hold my hair while I tried to roll it. That iron cost a lot more than this one too. Anyway, this iron rolled and held my hair nicely leaving it long and fuller than I expected, and after cooking chicken alfredo and making tea my hair still has some body left. Usually, there would be zilch body, none whatsoever because of steam and some light sweating in a hot kitchen. So, I truly, truly love this iron. It is worth every penny. Matter of fact I purchased another one today. It's on sale and I am blessed to have caught it at this low price. I personally would highly recommend this quality, and, not to forget, very pretty gold color curling iron. And, the handle is perfect holding size and the whole iron is light in weight. I'm a extremely happy customer. 10 stars.

Perfect for beach waves and large loose curls
Creates gorgeous, large curls! They usually fall pretty quickly into a nice beach wave. I always set with hairspray so they last longer. This iron is excellent quality, lightweight to hold, and heats up quickly. My only issue is my hair occasionally seems to stick to the metal!

1.5 inch regular length barrel, perf for loose curl/waves on long asian hair!
HAIR TYPE: i'm Filipina. my hair goes past the middle of my back, pin straight (rarely holds a loose wave/curl), i have "thick" hair because i have a lot of it, but my individual strands are fine/thin. WHAT: i purchased the 1.5 inch curling iron, normal length. i'm curious about the extra long barrel but didn't notice the option until after i purchased it already lol still worked perfectly though! HOW: with my hair type (straight, fine strands, a little oily at the roots, have to wash it often). 1) on freshly washed hair, applied It's A 10! product on the middle of my strands down to the ends, and blow dried on warm for a bit and switched to cool for the majority of the time until completely dry. 2) i set the temperature to 330º and let it heat up (heats up in 30 secs! i still wait about a min or two before curling though lol) 3) i sectioned my hair into two parts, bottom and top. starting with the bottom half i curled my hair away from my face on each side - i grab a section about 1.5-2inches thick (i like grabbing differently thickness of sections each time so it doesn't look too perfect/uniform! i want a slightly tousled/textured look), run the iron through the entire section once, then clamp about halfway down the section and curl away from my face leaving about two inches away from my scalp, hold for 6 seconds, pull it ~2 more inches down and curl again, hold for 5 seconds, pull it down the section again leaving ~1.5-2 inches of my ends free from the curling iron, curl again and hold for 4 seconds. repeat on each side then use a butterfly clip to hold them all together. then starting on the top second i curl away from my face on each side again using the same technique. IMPORTANT: the pieces closer to the front/framing my face i grab about 2-2.5 inch sections so the waves look even larger/loose around my face so it looks "windblown". 4) i removed the butterfly clip, turned over and shook my hair out and flipped it standing up, then used bumble and bumble dryspun texturizing spray and used my fingers to lift at the roots but spray mainly on the middle/ends of the hair, only spraying very lightly at the roots since too much product at my roots will weigh my hair down and make it sit super flat :( lol voila! i'm so glad that i found this curling iron. glad it heats up so quickly and looks pretty too! definitely recommend, especially for this price! p.s. i didn't get the extra long barrel, but i feel like i could've gotten either and it would have worked the same.

Great iron but coating wears down
I’ve bought several of these curling irons for years because they heat high and work great at straightening my coarse hair. However I keep having to replace it not because it stops working but because the coating where the spring and roller for the clamp is keeps wearing down. Thus the little roller on the spring doesn’t move appropriately to open and close the clamp all the way. Also, it doesn’t come with replacement springs anymore, nor can you buy them on Hot Tools site (though have found some after-market ones) which is wasteful. The area on the inside of the clamp needs better coating to last longer and withstand the spring roller.
