Its OK
I was expecting a nicer unit. Nothing wrong with it; its just a cheap chinese knock off. It works adequately, dont set your expectations too high.

Slices smoothly and well [with sacrifice]
This all metal meat slicer has sharp edges along many parts. I wore cut resistant gloves while assembling, disassembling, and cleaning.Assembly is straightforward, with patience and a little elbow grease. The Blade Removal Tool needed extra care at first to thread both screws correctly in both screw holes. The most challenging assembly step was ensuring that both screwheads for the Plastic Food Baffle seated flush in the Food Carrier.Disassembly for cleaning is also straightforward, but as others might say: It's a bit of a chore. I cleaned it before and after using. Before using, I found metal dust on the cleaning cloth, especially from the blade.* The Blade Removal Tool fully covers the blade's edges, for submersed washing in the sink. Moreover, the three blade screws are more than 1 cm long and easy to remove, catch, and insert.* After using, I found bits of meat and juices over almost all of its surfaces. Part #20 or #121, the protective cover of slide block, is not sealed along its top and bottom edges. For ease of cleaning and sanitation, I am considering sealing that with food grade silicone. The KWS Metal Collection Commercial MS-10DS is smooth to operate. The Blade Guard Canopy covers the three blade screws and enables smooth slicing. I sliced refrigerated tritip (~56F) into thin steaks at 15 thickness; and frozen beef tongue (~31F) into thin slices near 1 thickness. Maybe a total of 5-10 minutes? The Food Locating Arm held the meat in place nicely. I did not observe any stalling or strain by this meat slicer. Its overheat protective function also did not engage.I had only two difficulties using this meat slicer1. I find it takes extra torque power to move thickness control knob between 7 and 12 settings. I anticipate that will ease as it wears in through continued use.2. When slicing, the trailing edge is rarely cut through. Either adding a 5mm thick buffer along the inside of the Food Carrier's trailing lip, or using a bit of sacrifice from the product, will position the product forward enough to ensure consistent smooth slicing of the trailing edge. From my understanding, this is a common experience with almost all similar meat slicers. When product got stuck near the blade, I first turned the meat slicer off and unplugged it from power before reaching near the blade.

Full price for horribly done, untested, refurbished junk, & got (no-ownership) condescending email.
[See update at bottom... Company puts blame on others and only cares about review, not customer experience.]We got this model because it was all metal, and should be sturdier and well made. The concept is great but the quality of production is horrible. There was obviously no factory testing or quality checks. The blade has rust on it. The blade cover has stuff stuck to it that was even hard to scratch off like it was used and not cleaned properly. The internal plating behind the blade is bent and you can see other components inside our damaged. The cutting thickness adjustment knob won't open all the way and is very hard to turn, again like more misaligned components. The plate that the food sits against scrapes in contact with the blade perimeter cover. The feet for leveling won't level because they aren't straight down, some are a little angled. Also the clear guard plate didn't come with the bolts to hold it on to the sliding tray. The machine powers on but the blade won't turn, which the troubleshooting and the instruction book says is a manufacturing defect. That's also quite concerning that one of their troubleshooting steps is for you to confirm that they didn't send a defective product. That should be done in the factory. At this point I'm not sure if we are going to try a replacement or not.[Update: 2021-01-12]And sort of apology and trying to make it right, the company sends me a rather condescending email, full of grammar errors, stating that it is in response to my negative review and asking me to please make my review positive and "tell what really happened". Amazon customer service read their email to and agreed that it was very unprofessional and rude. They take zero ownership in the possibility of a defect leaving the factory and put 99.9% blame on the package career for not handling it right and setting it down on its side. How about accepting responsibility for not doing a much better job to label the box as fragile and not to topple it? Top of the box is completely blank. Sure it has the icons of fragile and up arrows on the side, but there is no special labeling for people who are thinking about getting the package delivered and not paying attention to the manufacturer print on the sides of the box It ships in. in other words, they put complete blame on somebody else meanwhile took absolutely minimal effort to indicate that this package needs to be handled a certain way. If you don't want somebody tipping your box, say so in big bold lettering on the top where they are going to be looking down at.They claim the rust is just "dry out lubricate" ("dried out lubricant") and can be easily cleaned off, which it didn't. They fail to address my other concern about the slicer thickness knob not fully turning or how the leveling feet are angled and don't fully sit flat. They also ignore the internal damage/bent plate and only talk about the blade guard ring.Until now, I was still somewhat undecided about possibly getting a replacement. Now, seeing that this is how they treat their customers, talking down to them and that they're only responding to a review making them look bad while having no concern about the customer's bad experience, as well as that they take absolutely zero ownership, I am absolutely sure that I won't be ordering another product from this company.
