Sargent Art 22-4084 1-Pound Solid Color Modeling Clay, Gray

This set of color clay is intended for modeling for me. They're easy to mold, hold the shape well and for the second intention, has assorted colors for playing. They do need some hand strength as I feel, but I said modeling is my prior intention, so I'm quite satisfied with it. So far, I've used this clay and plastic liquid repair kit to make small parts for my vehicle. e.g. small click part of the cup holder, sunshade holder...etc. I've also applied paint on the parts to make them more adaptive in the setting. Therefore, I didn't to have to replace every piece in my car that had small problems, which saved me a lot of money.As for the fun playing part, I don't have a lot of experience to share and comment. One thing I can say is that I didn't get my hands dyed by handling the clay, which I thought could be worth to mention since I remember getting hands dyed all the time when I was a kid by playing clays.Overall, very pleased.

We purchased this to use as added weight to a handmade weighted vest for sensory problems. It was recommended by our OT. So we aren’t using the clay for its intended purpose, but it has worked great for us!

It's enough putty for a small project and it's pretty heavy. I haven't used all of it. Very easy to shape. It doesn't harden and it's easy to clean. It's more expensive than kids modeling clay but it's geared towards more professional applications. Let the artist in you come out! At this price you can't go wrong.

It's the same oil clay I used in highschool to make plaster casts with. I really like this type of clay because I can do so many projects without commitment. I can start a sculpture and once I've lost interest, I can start something new without feeling guilt about wasting my art materials on incomplete projects.

I used 1/3 of the clay for a project a few months ago. Since then the rest of the clay has stayed in the same packaging, open to the elements, and it's still as soft as the day I bought it.

Perfect for using with silicone to make molds. It's durable and you can reuse it indefinitely. But, when working with kids, keep an eye on them. I bought the pink one and it smells like fruit candy, children might be tempted to eat some. Thankfully it's non toxic. Side note: our dogs will eat giant pieces when we aren't looking. They think it's food because it smells like food. (They're fine, but just be careful and don't leave it out anywhere!)

Generally speaking, the clay was easy to use. Decent material to say the least. However, i would not use this particular clay with Smooth-On lquid silicone. Yes, with the proper release spray, it comes of the cured silicone, but not without some parts clinging to it. Best to use Plastalina instead.

This clay is gray. Gray is the color of rainy skies and London fog. That alone should sell you on it. The supple properties of this clay will be the rest. This came in a brilliant and cheerful package, reminiscent of the art supply closet at school in third grade... remember third grade? Yeah you do.I use this clay in a molding process... and i must say, although i ruined one mold, it was not the clay's fault. It made a smooth, glistening base for my mold, and it warms up so nicely in the palm of my large hands that i think of it as a sort of pet now. It doesn't meow. I ordered this clay for my workshop, and so absolutely love its cheerful gray color that i may just coat the walls with it and live happily ever after.

I bought this as an add-on item when it was on sale for $2.76. At this price, I hit the jackpot. I would pay a lot more for the clay. It is easy to work with. I store it in a ziplock bag and it does not dry out. If you do crafts, this is a great clay to have in your tickle trunk.
