Samsung DE96-00414A Latch Body + Switch Assembly

A plastic lever that pushes on the door switch when closed was broken off. This led to the microwave staying on when the door was opened. This part fit exact and took about 15 minutes to replace. It includes all new switches which is a plus. If you have any switching issues, just buy this part and replace the whole thing.

Was able to fix microwave with this part. However one switch has one less lead. So far hasn’t caused issues.

Fixed issue where fan would run all the time on microwave as one of the three switches in this bracket were defective. You can replace the switches independently, but you have to figure out which one it is and it is not as straight forward of a repair. This went right in.

There are several Youtube videos that will help you fix your microwave. I purchased this product because I watched the wrong youtube video that said you could just pull the switches from the housing using needle nosed pliers. WRONG! You should remove this assembly from the microwave (held in place by two obvious screws) in order to access the little plastic retainers that hold the switches in place. These plastic retainers break very easily. The switches themselves are cheap, but the full assembly costs a bit more. Either way, you will save a bunch doing it yourself, and it is not difficult.

My microwave was turning on intermittently when I opened the door. The problem was intermittent, and I wasn't able to identify the failing switch with a multimeter at first. So, I decided to replace all three thinking that the others will probably wear like the one that's failing. Well, the day after I ordered this assembly, the bottom switch completely failed and I was able to isolate the bad switch. It gives me some peace of mind replacing the entire assembly with all of the switches.
