Great Book For Those Who Are Coping With Any Brain Trauma...
I was excited to have found a copy of this book. The author of this book has also undergone brain trauma so its neat to be able to get an expert perspective and a personal perspective at the same time. This book is not afraid of talking about the degrees of severity of brain trauma one can encounter, whereas mainstream and uninformed physicians prefer to glance over because it ends up being extensive work on their end to understand the underlying nuances and atypical symptoms. It does not take much to create an mild brain trauma exposure and unfortunately it goes highly undiagnosed.Stoler provides anecdotal examples of different people's exposure to head trauma, even her own. You may recognize yourself in one of these stories. She establishes a few chapters devoted to some of the symptoms of brain trauma (ie dizziness, headaches, fatigue, headaches, motor coordination, etc.). A few of the chapters she gives insights in what procedures/treatments to do to start recovery from such issues (changing diet, avoiding sensitive foods, specialists to see, supplements, etc.). She also provides great advice as far as coping mechanisms for the individual with MTBII think this is an excellent book for people who have just discovered they or someone they care for has mild traumatic brain injury. She even goes into a little bit about the legal aspects of it. Because of this, I think this is an excellent resource for physicians, lawyers, and people who may deal with individuals in car accidents, or rehab who may not have had such trauma themselves but will now get a sense of the life adjustments their client or patient may have been going through or need to make.I thank Stoler for providing literature that describes the medical and research applications for MTBI and also a more personal trial representation about what the individual with MTBI is going through. This book will provide an excellent starting point for the patient, but it will be up to the individual with MTBI to do extensive research into how their particular MTBI is manifesting. For the individual with MTBI, they will be happy to know that someone out there understand their situation.

EXCELLENT: PRACTICAL TIPS AMONGST SKILLED STORY STORY
I highly recommend this book.Atop having a neurological defect and other medical concerns, I run several virtual support groups; I believe this text serves a unique purpose for the MTBI/neurological community. This topic and the writing is very accessible, including to those with medical conditions (with a wide variety of brain injury, diseases, condition types, etc). It is also an excellent educational resource because it is ENJOYABLE to read: perfect for MTBI family members, healthcare professionals, students, etc.Just simply observing another person experiencing what I have -some scenarios nearly identically- was been very worthwhile to see described and validated by another human being. I am not so alone after all. Another valuable aspect is the author's skilled portrayal of the struggles within the mind and externally that are so often impossible for us to explain to others like family and doctors included! Also, I personally have already implemented some of the suggestions!

Shines a light
'Coping with Mild Traumatic Brain Injury' is an excellent source of information for some of both immediate and long term consequences. Very little information is available for those of us with these varied and difficult injuries. We have no visible wounds but are not quite able to function and don't know why. There are about twenty to thirty million of these cases per year undiagnosed or misdiagnosed. Each case is different. In my monthly brain injury support group we say, 'If you've seen one brain injury you've seen one brain injury'.I saw a copy of this book first at this meeting. The director had a copy and called it her 'Bible'. I ordered a copy immediately from Amazon. It soon arrived in excellent condition and I began to reference it right away. With the large number of veterans now returning with this type of injury this book shines a light into a vast void for those searching for answers.

You're not going crazy
I've wanted this book for awhile and glad I got it. I was in a mv accident in 2000 and lost consciousness. At the hospital they did an exam that is now not considered conclusive for tramatic brain injury. I knew something wasn't right but because it went undiagnosed I had no treatment and did the best I could to invent ways of challenging my brain. The unfortunate thing is how many people I have spoken with who have had mild tramatic brain injury yet not much interest in helping these people. This book has really helped me tremendously so now if people in the medical field could have training it would certainly help ALOT OF PEOPLE from needless suffering as well as their families. Thanks for your book

Comprehensive, Informative, Easy to Read, a Lifesaver
One of my therapists recommended this book to me - and boy what a difference it makes to know that I'm not alone, that I'm not going crazy, and that things are not as hopeless as they appear.I don't know if I would have gotten through the trials and tribulations after the car accident last year if it weren't for this wonderful book (along with "Brainlash by Gail Denton). I actually put yellow sticky notes on dozens of the pages and took it in with me when I went to see my doctor. It was SO HELPFUL.If you've been in a car accident or been through any kind of head trauma and have been having trouble getting "back to normal", then get this book. It will help.

Great book
Enjoyed this book as it gave me a lot of insight into what to expect in dealing with my daughter who has been dealing with a MTBI following a concussion over a year ago. Spent 3 months as part of her family to help her out as she was working on her recovery. Also gave her a copy of the book. Gave me a bases on which to help her understand what she was going through and the length of time to expect in recovery. She is slowing moving forward now.
