AMPLockU-TLS2516I | Strong Trailer Lock for 2-5/16" Ball Coupler | Patented Trailer Coupler Lock for JAYCO - Travel Trailer | Fits 2-5/16" Ball Trailer Coupler with Underslung/Inverted Design ONLY

I bought this for a 2021 Jayco 22RB. Looks real beefy. This is really the only secure lock that uses a Abloy style lock that is difficult to pick. Most of the other cheaper options are crappy locks, easily picked. Problem here is the fitment. I don't know if it is the tight tolerances AMPLOCK used or bad testing when they designed it. Essentially the locking plunger doesn't go low enough to clear the lip welded on the hitch from Jayco. It is possible Jayco isn't consistent on this welded portion that is added to the underside of the hitch to make a more rounded receiver. I send photos of the issue to AMPLOCK who didn't have much input and referred to the measurement of the width for proper fitment. It should have been clear by the photo it was the HEIGHT that was the issue. Maybe something happens between the French and English translation but it's more likely related to a non-mechanical person working in customer service to help on a small mechanical issue.I had even suggested a couple of ideas as a solution and wanted their best suggestion. I got an offer to return the item.For a $200 item, I expected a bit more customer service to ensure their product worked. But I guess since Amazon was footing the bill and would likely take the hit for it's return, it wasn't a big deal.I really wanted something secure for my trailer and this is nearly the only option, so I modified the hitch by grinding about a 1/16 inch from the welded addition to the bottom of the hitch so the locking plunger would fit under. The lock can also be taken apart rather easily to grind away 1/16th of the locking plunger if you want to go that route.

This behemoth lock is IDEAL for inverted or “underslung” hitches like Jayco uses - HOWEVER - due to manufacturing tolerance diferences, SOME of these style hitches may be a bit too tall for the main lock post to slide completely onto the tongue as it should. Whether an inconsistency in manufacturing tolerances, or an oversight in manufacturing by AMPLOCK, the remedy is relatively simple, as the lock post just will not lower enough to allow fitment! By removing the single socket head hex screw, (mine was filled with clear silicone in the head which will was easily removed) the locking post/sleeve assembly will slide out easily by unlocking with a key. Removing the lock cylinder, You will find a long slot in the sleeve/post which allows the post movement independent of the lock cylinder. This slot neets to be made longer by filing with a 3/16” chainsaw file, about 3/32” to 1/8” at the top of the lock pin sleeve. MAKE THE SLOT LONGER! This allows the lock post to drop a teeny bit more and VIOLA! The post will drop further allowing the lock assembly to slide on and fit LIKE A CHARM!!AMPLOCK should take note here.Seems a bit ridiculous to spend this kind of money and have such a minor manufacuring flaw that may render the product useless to a typical consumer.I would have given this product 5 stars if it had been machined correctly from the factory.

As others have mentioned, this will not fit the inverted coupler on [some?] Jayco trailers. Since there are so few choices on the market, I'll do a little grinding or easing (hammering) to make it fit. Manufacturer could easily resolve this by cutting the lock mechanism guide channel 1/16 longer or the lock pin 1/16 shorter.

Description says max coupler size of 4.750"My coupler measures 4.724" and it doesn't go on because the lock isn't wide enough.If it fit i'd give it 5 stars but because of the deceptive description I'm giving it 2 stars. The description should say max couplers size is 4-5/8" or 4.625"

The media could not be loaded.  This is a STOUT lock but the fit is really loose. If it fit a bit better, it would be a 5-star item.

Wish there wasn’t so much play after mounting to the hitch. But nonetheless I’m glad I finally found a hitch lock to fit my new jayco white hawk!

Supposed to fit my Jayco trailer hitch but it didn’t. Didn’t matter what I tried.

Very hard to find for this style of hitch. Well built. Only drawback is price but it feels worth it.
