Worked Perfectly And Saved Me A Lot Of Money
My water heater stopped working and I called a few local plumbers. One plumber said the parts were no longer available and I would have to buy a new water heater -- without even coming to check the water heater! I decided to see if I could just fix it myself, and after doing some reading and watching a bunch of videos, I saw how easy it is to change this part out myself. Apparently, these Honeywell gas valves have a high number of failures, and often need to be replaced after 3-5 years.I shut off the gas, drained my tank, and removed the old part. I then installed the new part, reconnected everything, turned on the gas, checked for leaks, and started the pilot lighting procedure. It started up right away, and I had hot water again after about 30 min.Obviously, you should not try this yourself if you are not comfortable with or have no experience working with gas appliances. But if you are able to do this yourself, you can save $500 or more!

Works great
My water heater stopped heating the water deep in the winter months. I threw in my heater model to the inner webs, and this one said it was compatible, did the install and has been working perfect since. Install was super easy - YouTube is your friend.PS - If your heater won't ignite, you can hook up a AA battery and connect the pins manually with alligator clips and manipulate the system and get the big burner to ignite and heat the water. It's on YouTube how to do it at your own risk. I did it while I was waiting for this one to be delivered and it was a lifesaver.

High quality replacement - slight difference mounting off-set
This unit is the updated model where the thermostat well probe is covered in metal. The only surprise I encountered was the thermostat probe that screws into the body of the hot water heater was 3/4" longer than the failed existing Honeywell unit which came on my Bradford White water heater. Fortunately, the aluminum gas lines for the pilot supply gas and the main burner have enough play, after bending them slightly I was able to thread the compression fitting and tighten it, verifying the absence of gas leakage. Please be careful to ensure the main burner is anchored properly in the mounting keyway which is vital to ensure the burner aligns just under the exhaust passage.

Worse product
Don’t know if it works or not. It advertises as Honeywell but when you receive the package, it says residue or whatever. Wasn’t the size for our water heater. Had to call for refund because the company wouldn’t have a refund button. Whether it was an Amazon glitch or they don’t accept refund. Just stay clear unless you absolutely know this is the one you need.

Hot water tank gas valve
Original valve started leaking as the probe that goes in side tank has plastic casing (inside that casing the water temp sensor is located) and that plastic casing started cracking and water started to coming out and droplets goes down and travel down to that small pilot flame and it turns off and we were going crazy why pilot is going off. Finally figured it out that it was gas valve leak. Purchased this one that has metal casing for sensor, took little time to install it, (IMPORTANT: use yellow tape for gas line or use gas putty if you are DIY guy). So far so its been holding fine. I believe its bit over priced item.

Not quite right.
The Honeywell product received is actually a Resideo. I'm not pleased with that switch. Apparently, because the well probe sensor was a frequent failure on earlier valves the updated valves now have a better probe. Unfortunately, I never read any mention that the new assembly moves the valve about 3/4" to 1" away from the tank. Unless you repipe the gas line to the burner this places the burner off center in the combustion chamber. Does it matter?
