Having used it at first exclusivley with my one applecheeks cover, both tucked inside and layed on top like a prefold I liked that it's on the less bulkiy side. What I'm not too crazy about is the applecheeks cover I bought to pair it with. It's just too bulky together. Maybe my baby is on the smaller side and he'll grow into a size 2 applecheeks cover better in time but right now being the dead of winter I can't just have him in a cloth diaper without pants. That being said, I have used these inserts with my thirsties, grovia's and even inside my bum genius to find the best result. While it's not my absolute favorite, the coverage for my baby is fine and used in my rotation along with all my other prefolds. Using this in the pocket of the cover and adding a bamboo booster has kept her dry all night for 5 nights now. I was using the micro terry pads in the pocket but it was leaking.
