Brother P-touch TZe-M355 White Print on Premium Matte Black Laminated Tape 24mm (0.94”) wide x 8m (26.2’) long

I’m afraid that I do have to lighten up a bit on my rather negative review of this product because I have found a good use for it. It’s good for stagecraft use. The matte finish makes it low-glare, low-reflection and that’s often what is needed on stage. In fact, Brothers would do well to make a gray print on black tape version with this matte finish and market it just for stagecraft use. On the other hand, the “premium” price of this product is likely to keep it off of many stages.——————-I don’t know why Brothers thinks this is “Premium.” I think these labels look ugly.A P-Touch label has three layers: the base with an adhesive back, the printing, and a clear protective top coat. The background color comes from the base layer. The print color comes from the printing layer, and the clear top coat seals the printing to the base layer.To make this so-called “Premium” label, they have just replaced the clear top coat with a frosted top coat. Yes, it gets rid of the glossiness that is characteristic of P-Touch labels, but, in my opinion, it ends up looking blurry, dirty, and worn-out.It’s actually hard to read a small font on these labels.In conclusion, I think this is a product failure for Brothers.

The top layer looks like you’re supposed to peel it off. There’s a bunch of little air bubbles between the clear matte layer and black background. It does not look great, but it will work for my purposes. But I won’t buy matte black again. I wish I had read the reviews! I just saw the star rating and assumed it would be good. I was wrong.

Low quality looking. It looks like there is a plastic film with bubbles covering your label. But actually no, that's how the label looks like...... Instead of "Premium Matte Black", I'd like to say "Low-Quality Matte Black"

The tape is almost separated in areas- like air pockets. Color is more of a dark grey.
