I like the songs but was disappointed it does not have chords which is the way i play.

If you like Niles' characteristic interesting takes on folk songs and Appalachia, this is a great representation of his songs. Lots of Christmas lit, too. He always brings a fluid accompaniment and neo-romanticism to familiar tunes. Great choices if you're bored with the Folk Songs for Solo Singers sets.

I recommend this book because it has all the songs that I'm required to learn. I liked how it was delivered very quickly through the mail service. I didn't like the writings inside the book. I would recommend the music to a lot of people.

This is a beautiful book, with wonderful songs by John Jacob Niles. I bought two of them. One for myself and one for my voice teacher. We have been using them every week. She has the book for high voice, but we needed low voice and I found it here on Amazon! Fair price, too!

This book has a very nice collection of John Jacob Niles songs that is good for a beginner or a more advanced singer. The majority of the songs are in the baritone range with the occasional step into the higher tenor range. If you like John Jacob Niles, this book has many of the classics.

This is a wonderful collection of Niles' songs with his accompaniments. I'm not sure it's still in print, but it should be. It was expensive for used music.

A fine collection of beautiful songs. Americana at it best.

Very pleased with this book-have one voice student performing songs out of it, and I hope to sing through it myself in the future!
