Not for my Troy-bilt
I installed this on a Troy-bilt push mower with the express intention of using it to bag leaves. Long story short, it pulverizes the ones that remain under the deck. The problem is, it blows a lot of them away from the the mower as I approach them. I'm guessing the design of my deck's to blame; I don't know. Whatever the reason, I guess I'm stuck with the factory blade.

Turns a cheap mower into something great
I have a cheap-ish Troy-Bilt push mower. Wanted to up my lawn game and get a really nice Toro, but decided to be frugal and try this first. I'm glad I did, because this blade is great. The stock blade on my mower was alright, but the generic replacements you can buy at Lowe's/HD have metal that seems softer than aluminum. Not so with these gator blades. The moment you feel its weight you know it will do a great job. It easily weighs 2x my stock blade and 3x the generic one, despite similar overall dimensions (it's a bit thicker). I was worried the weight would stress my engine, but it runs perfectly and even sounds "happier" with it than the stock blade. The mulched clippings are very fine - mowing once per week in my bermuda section I'd always have to take an extra pass to get the clippings to go beneath the grass canopy, but with this blade a single pass is enough to get the clippings to fall below. For those wondering about pre-sharpened or not with the painted edge, I took the risk and just put it on there as it came. After the first few lines the paint had mostly worn from the edge and the cut grass blades didn't have any rips or tearing. After 3 mows, I took the blade off to sharpen and it still had a great edge. I cleaned it up a bit by hand with a stone and put it back on for next time. With the amount of steel on this thing, I'm pretty sure it'll last forever if it needs to.My favorite thing is that I can spend not much more money than a generic blade and give my basic mower a huge upgrade.

Great Mulching Blade
I have a 21" Yard Machines (MTD) Mower that side discharges, mulches, and bags. The mower came with a 3-in-1 blade. I only mulch so I was looking for a mulch specific blade. I purchased this blade because Gator blades always have good reviews. I would however like to address some of the comments in other reviews. Some folks mentioned that the blade is much heavier than an OEM blade and they think the extra weight will somehow ruin their engine. In my opinion the new blade was not any heavier than the OEM blade I replaced. Also, it does not matter how heavy a blade is. It is more important that it's balanced properly.Other folks claim this blade magically mows their lawn much better than their old blade, stops their mower from stalling, etc... I suspect they replaced an old, dull, and unbalanced blade with a new one or tried to mow more than 1/3 of the lawns height with that deteriorated blade and now their reviews contain false positives. I had my blade OEM blade professionally sharpened and balanced 2 to 3 times a year depending on how frequently I mow. My OEM blade bogs down and stalls the engine if the grass is too wet or too long. My lawn is regularly fertilized so my grass grows quickly and is very thick. We recently got a lot of rain over 3 days. Prior to the rain the lawn already needed to be mowed but I had to wait for a clear day. I mowed my overgrown, damp lawn with the Gator blade and it did not perform any better than the OEM. The only noticeable difference was the size of the cut blade of grass. The cut grass was half the size (smaller) than the OEM blade. The smaller cut will help the mulched grass decompose faster, which is a plus. The picture is wrong and does not match the description. The part that's wrong is the bowtie center. The picture does not show it but that's how it's described and that's how mine came. I had no issues with the install whatsoever. Just remember the teeth point up. If you ordered this "Bowtie" blade by mistake you can buy an adapter here on Amazon so you don't have to return the blade.

Heavy Duty
Replaced factory original version with this blade on Troy Built 21" push mower. Original blade had to be resharpened after each use due to a lot of rocks in a very rough new yard. This Oregon blade has stayed sharp with no chips in edges despite hitting small rocks. The original blade was much thinner / lighter weight than the Oregon blade and had no momentum for getting through heavy grass. The mower would bog down continually. With the thicker / heavier Oregon blade, the mower stays at higher rpm even in heavier grass. Well worth the price. The value is there and it fit the "Bow Tie" center hub shape perfectly when attaching to the mower.

Best Blade Available
I used these to replace a set of badly worn, and stump bent blades on my 21" Craftsman Pusher. The grass had not been cut for 3 1/2 weeks due to injury and endless rain, leaving me with grass almost 8" tall. I set the mower to highest setting of 4", and I had the bagger attached as well, which needs to be emptied usually just once, as I use the Pusher for smaller areas a larger rider can't get to...When I was finished, the bag was barely full...And it didn't leave any trailing lines or clumps behind me. I then set mower deck to 3.5" and did a cross cut, and again, perfectly clean lawn with no cut grass clippings anywhere, and the bag pretty much empty..Another benefit of the smaller grass cuttings, easier for lawn to break down when it is not swept, and also clean up, nothing really sticks like long badly cut grass...it's just a great blade design.

Heavy Duty
Replaced Craftsman blade with this, it is at least 2x thicker and holds up really well. I have hit a few rocks and other things with no damage, this stays sharp. I cant say that it mulches any better but it does seem to pick up leaves better than the original blade. It is worth the money.

Not off to a good start
I have not installed this yet, and am unsure if I will, or if I will return it. It looks like it is thick, and feels heavy and stable, however, it is extremely dull. I can smack my arm and hand with it, and leave no mark at all. the blade is about as sharp as spoon.I do not think I am alone when I say I prefer a cutting blade to be sharp enough to cut.So far, not worth the cost. Especially if I have to have it sharpened, costing more money. Not impressed

Not real impressed
Not real impressed. Works some what but not worth the money. Have to keep tightening the bolt or blade will fall off
