With the collar nut unscrewed I noted that the barb connector has a ball on the other end, so it might accept some other type of fitting like the name-brand welders have. Most of the complaints seem to be from people who have had problems directly attaching their fancy hoses. I thought people with fancy welders used expensive mixed gas and not cheap CO2 like me with my cheap welder. My advice, if you can't get your hose to attach, cut the end off and push it on the barbed connector, or buy an expensive regulator from a welding store. This flow gauge works, the adjustment is smooth and I have no leaks. It is exactly what I needed.
