Peavy Mfg 5-1/2' Peavey

This thing is heavy duty, and makes moving logs or whole felled trees, very easy. It also grabs any size logs, unlike some others I've tried. Awesome product!

I used our new peavey to move 14 - 20 ft cedar and fir logs, some 2' in diameter. I'm over 200 lbs, and had no qualms hanging from this tools to move some heavy logs. The fir was cut and split into firewood (these were rejects from a milling operation), and the cedar has been stacked for milling into outdoor lumber (garden benches, planters, etc). With a ramp made of 6x8s I was able to roll the cedar logs onto two levels to save space.If you need a heavy duty tool for moving big logs, this is a great unit. I would cut heavy logs about 3/4 way through, roll the log over with this, and finish the cuts from the other side. I like that this is US made by the original company that popularized this tool 100+ years ago. Would definitely buy again.

I ordered this peavy to help me flip large logs that I have on my potable log mill. The peavy came in a tall box that looked pretty beaten up. I was concerned that the product might be damaged - it was fine. In fact, it was flawless and was made to work hard for years. The length of the handle made turning a 1000 to 1800 pound log very easy. The hook grabs well with little effort to "set" it into the log. I would definitely buy one of theses again...but I don't think I will live that long ;-)

This Peavy locks right into the log and something is going to give, either the log or you. Saw concerns about breaking the handle. The handle is about three inches at the largest part. Unless you are King Kong you’re not breaking this handle. Hook sets into the log first try, no fiddling to set it as some cant hooks require. This thing is strong and quality made by a USA company. Buy this and your great grandchildren will be using it.

This is a superb project. The real deal. Not some knock off product from China. If anything, it might be too good. This is an extremely long peavey, best used on very large logs. I bought it to use on firewood logs. It rolled big oak logs with very little effort. it’s a great tool if you need one this large.

Wow, this thing is a beast!! Just arrived today. Cannot wait to try it on a giant Ponderosa I'll be taking down this weekend. Heavy duty and looks to be well built. The "Made in the USA" sticker is the best part!! Worth the money for a USA made product that's well built.

Pictures do not adequately convey the heavyweight nature of this product. It's super sturdy and well capable to roll logs well in excess of 1-ton. The handle is a very comfortable size and it's just the right sharpness to dig in and grab the log. Many tools show log rolling on flat, debris-free (aka non-realistic) surfaces. This works in the real world in the forest where the ground is uneven an there are MANY obstacles. I couldn't be happier with this purchase!

Using it on 12"- 36" red oak 8'-16' long with no issues, even doing things I know I probably shouldn't be doing with it.Tooth stays sharp. Pivot pin just keeps taking abuse. Bites and releases well. Does well with two big guys rolling the big stuff.
