First had this coffee in Hawaii...
and imagine my surprise when I found it on Amazon. The bigger surprise was that it was less expensive than what I paid for it when I was in Hawaii (even with shipping). Coffee was as fresh as ordering whole beans on the Internet can be unless you order specific beans from a roasting company that will roast to your specifications and will get it to you in a couple of days (like West Coast Roasting Company). This makes a pretty darn good cup of coffee and I still can't believe I paid less here for the same product both times I was in Hawaii...kinda like going there and having to eat pineapples grown in another country.:) Less expensive, great coffee so it's okay with me.

It's coffee
If, you're reading this review. You should realize that you've got first world problems!! Are you reading reviews on coffee because it's a bit pricy or are you reading it to see if this coffee will bring back the memories of hula dancers and pineapple drinks?? It's coffee!! Me, I don't drink coffee. But, the wife does. She likes this coffee because it's dark. She hasn't put on a pair of coconuts and a grass skirt yet though. I'll surely edit my review if that ever happens!! Please, smile and try to make the world a better place!! Cheers!!

Kona Bliss
I loved the flavor and the beans were fresh. I use the Kona to blend it with another coffee brand. I grind my own whole bean and use the grind for pour-overs for my morning coffee. I liked the practical gold tone coffee bag clip...nice touch.

Meh
This was a medium bodied, smooth coffee with hint of the kona I know, but there it ends. No wow flavor, even though I ground the beans just before brewing in my press. Good luck to others, but I can't afford the price point with these results.

Not worth the delivered cost.
Received the ordered whole beans within a week of ordering. However, I find this supplier has nothing that equals my usual roaster/supplier in New Jersey from whom I order freshly roasted to order Mocha Java and Ethiopian Yergacheffe whole beans received within two or three days after roasting. Perhaps the Kona roaster/supplier did not roast what I received any time close to the date it was shipped to me.I once lived in Oahu for over two years while stationed at SubBase Pearl Harbor and while there I became familiar with fresh roasted Kona from the "Big Island". The beans I received through Amazon are nowhere near the Kona coffee I drank regularly while stationed in the Islands. Suggest others look further than Amazon to find truly fresh roasted Kona which is far better than what I received and could be worth the high cost.

Love the Clips!
I liked this coffee a lot. Very smooth taste, not bitter. I only wish I could afford it all the time, but it's a luxury.I like the little bag clips that came with the coffee. They are very useful for keeping my other coffees closed or even bags of chips and cereal.

My favorite coffee by far
I purchase this coffee at abc stores when I am in Hawaii. My favorite coffee by far! I ran out and thought I would order from Amazon. It was one of the worst tasting coffee's I have ever had. I don't recall it being vacuumed sealed when I opened it, so maybe that was it. I guess I will have to fly back to Oahu and get some fresh beans.

Has a good, bold taste without being bitter.
Has a good, bold taste without being bitter.Got it for my Dad, who loved having coffee in Hawaii and he said it tasted like being back there. It’s pricey, but makes a great gift.
