For an extra $160 I could have had a Fellow!
What a beautiful thing is the The Fellow Tally Scale! It measures in grams or oz, stops and starts a timer, zeroes or "tare weights" the scale to accommodate different measuring containers...dang, it has EVERYTHING. Even an "on-off" button.Oh wait. So does my Apexstone, which I bought two years ago for around $15. But the Fellow costs $185! It's so...expensive! and it has a GLASS top so you could BREAK it if you didn't handle it with the reverence worthy of an overpriced piece of hardware! And all I have is a dependable coffee scale/timer to work with every morning, weighed out to the 1/10 of a gram for both bean and water, then timed for both my bloom and my pour! And it has an auto shut-off if I forget to power it down. But, what am I supposed to do with all this extra cash?!Yes, my Apexstone scale occasionally gives weird readings. And you know what? Turn it off and on, and reweigh. What a concept! I've never not been able to weigh my coffee in the am due to scale inaccuracy, and no one EVER has said my coffee would taste better if I had spent more on a timer/scale.Folks, you can't go wrong with this nice little unit. Dependable, the batteries last a long time, it's so easy to use my 2-year old helps with it in the am, it's easy to clean, and it doesn't take up much space. It DOES however leave my wallet fat, which causes me all kinds of stress. "What ridiculously overpriced device could I buy INSTEAD of a $200 coffee scale?" Oh, how the rich must suffer!

Accurate, stable, and reliable; Good Deal Overall
I am an award winning Barista that has competed in many places throughout Italy, Japan, and in the USA. I have used scales that are 100xs more expensive then this one and yet they are almost no distinguishable differences from each other, in terms of stable accurate readings that you can trust. I trust this scale so much that it is my go-to scale when I am traveling and want to make coffee.Obviously this isn't perfect, no scale can be; it can only get to a certain degree of error close to perfect. This one is about as close as you can get without buying a professional scale, which I have compared this one to. Overall it can be anywhere from 0.3 to 1.2 grams off. But for a cheap plastic scale that is under 20$, that's more then acceptable. In my experience the best thing you can do to help this scale preform the best it possibly can is to replace batteries on a monthly basis and make sure to put scale on as level surface as possible. As a professional you can bet I am much more fussy about these things, so I actually place a level on every surface I put this scale, but as long as you have a good eye it probably won't make a noticeable difference to you.I give this a 5/5 for being as good as it is given the price.EDIT: Also do not use the batteries that come with the scale, they will work; but I tested them with my volt metter and found them to be delivering the minimum amount of power to make the scale work. If you want best performance, use freash new batteries from a trusted brand. If you want to go the extra mile you can also just test the battery's before they go in, as long as they test above 1.2V each you are good.

Amazing for the price
Not only good for measuring coffee grounds but various ingredients when cooking. It has about 4-5 weight settings, illuminated display, timer. Super convenient. Came with a silicone cover and a plastic tray with a spout. Very nice

Mat comes off way too easily
I can't comment fully on the value of this compared to high-end scales for coffee, but the measurements seem accurate to my Greater Goods scale. It seems responsive, and seems to work well.I'm taking off 2 stars though, because using it is not fun solely due to the very loose rubber top. It seems like every time I use it, the mat is getting knocked off or something. It's annoying to use despite the scale and timer being welcome features. It's easy to operate, but using this device is not "easy" in the sense that the mat comes off too easily.

Not protected in any way for water. Scale lasted a few days before a small amount of water made it completely dead.
