“Traditionally”, the other style of SSD holder, the “clamp-squeeze-from-the-sides” style was mounted on the left of the cages, above the data ports/power slot area. The 4K cage was configured that way. It was cumbersome and clunky. For the new SmallRig cages, for my BMDPocket 6K camera, I have these SSD drive holders mounted on the far right! Sooo much more sleek, out of the way, and symmetrically effective. It is easy to secure the drive, and secure the cable head. I haven’t had to adjust the two mounting screws yet... so rest assured that even with heavy use, you won’t feel “preoccupied” with gear concerns... allowing you to remain focused on the shoot itself. That’s SmallRig for ya. Big win for me. Great options for mounting to your cage as your shooting needs shift. This unit is a rigging MUST. B.Kyle

I kinda wonder if I should have gone with a cold shoe version of this on how my setup is but this does work just fine. It is quality made, and I do only use one screw since my setup doesn't have a good spot for me to use the second screw. It holds just fine, and it is a very nice mount.

I had to return mine as the screws were missing so I didn't get to use it in the field. Note this will fit only the Samsung T7 SSD external drives. Outside of that it appears solid and screws onto your camera or phone cage. Samsung SSDs are my go to brand, but I think I will get something more universal with different mount options.

A good, minimum size mount for a SSD drive. I use it with both Samsungs’s T5 and T7. I’m discontinuing using the T7, due to poor write speeds. So, eventually, I will see how well it works with other SSD brands.

It’s a great piece of hardware that accent’s the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K really well. I can now confidently use my Samsung SSD to record oral histories and not fear that it will get disconnected. It’s very sturdy and I’m sure I can use it for more mobile video shoots too.I just wish you could have multiple mounting location options on the SMALLRIG full cage.But I’m totally happy it. Thanks for a great product SMALLRIG. Now I’m saving my pennies for some NATO grips/ handles to go with my setup.

It holds the T5 ssd housings, which suits my needs.There are complaints about the positioning of the adjusting levers, but they must not realize they can be repositioned without changing the tension by pulling and twisting them as desired (they are spring loaded).The only thing I can say against it is that the connection you adhere it to your cage pretty much locks you into one position. But it doesn’t really get in the way so it’s not a complaint.

It’s not the one in the images, though it is SmallRig branded, very sturdy and lightweight. i actually preferred what I recieved to what there is in the pictures.
