All American Collection New 7 Piece Embroidered Over-Sized Comforter Set (Queen, Brown/Beige)

I've been searching for a king sized comforter that will drape over the sides of the mattress how I want, and I finally found it. The comforter fits great, but it, the pillows, the shams, and bedskirt is extremely wrinkled. I thought that once it was out of the bad and laying flat the wrinkles would smooth out, but it didn't. I had to use a garment steamer to get the wrinkles out. Overall I like the set, was just annoyed at how wrinkled everything was.

The description only had one picture, of a beautiful dark gray and teal comforter set with some accent pillows, and it was exactly how I wanted my bedroom to look. I have a dark gray upholstered bed frame/headboard, and I bought dark gray sheets that matched the gray of the comforter exactly, and I was very excited for it to arrive. And then it arrived, and I pulled it out and found... white. The back of the comforter and the pillow shams is white fabric. Not only would it have been a huge pain to really keep clean, but in all the dark gray, the sudden flashes of white would be blinding. And although you can hide it long enough for, say, a picture, as in the listing here, you wouldn't be able to hide that with daily use. It was very very disappointing, because it was otherwise a beautiful set.Two other things I wanted to address: First, a decent number of reviews refer to it being poorly made with threads everywhere. There were indeed a lot of loose threads when I was examining it. However, in looking at them, they appeared to be just poor/sloppy thread trimming when it was being put together rather than any actual structural deformity. I am not an expert, so I can't say that with 100% certainty, but that's what it looked like to me. I think if I'd kept it, I would have clipped all the threads and I think it would have been fine. I didn't wash it or use it at all, once I saw the back side was white, but that was my impression.Second, It was noted in another review that there was a bunch of randomly sewn different colored threads sewn all over the place, which the reviewer thought was poor craftmanship and sloppy work. At least some of the threads they submitted pictures of were intentionally sewn to help keep the filling in place when the comforter is washed (this is a pretty common thing that I've seen quite a bit as I've been looking for comforters). It is unfortunate that the threads were so poorly matched to the rest of the comforter for that reviewer. The places where the one I got were sewn like that had mostly matching threads... most were dark gray, and there were a few places where it was a lighter gray, but nothing that would have stood out. Related, I did notice that the filling around the edges didn't stay in place very well. If washed, I think it would have bunched up a little just at the edges because the filling wasn't sewn into the edges, it just ended at the edge but was loose there. I think it would have straightened out with a little working it after washing, but it would have been better if it had actually been sewn all the way around the edge instead.

I had to wash it because and accident. It had some seams sown that didn’t quite make sense.

The whole set had to be hand steamed several times to get the wrinkles out. I was hoping by ordering polyester, wrinkles wouldn’t be a problem.

Comforter looks so elegant and is so soft. I like the California King as it hangs on the sides a lot better. Perhaps they need a Canadian King so that it hangs in the proper spot but still looks so good.
