Has anyone successfully washed this?

Hello Sarah,We have NOT washed this particular one. The tag has NO instructions as to whether or not it is machine washable. However we have successfully washed other stuffed animals successfully by placing them in a pillow case/tied off (or a zippered pillow protector case works very nicely). Balance your machine with another critter or other like items, wash on delicate, spin out twice and air dry. When dry a nice brushing usually brings back the nap on the fur of stuffed animals. Hope this is helpful, best to you :)

Are these really appropriate for 6 months? We got a moose thay says 1+Months (different brand) and son was pulling out "fur" by the handful.

It's really plush and nicely made, but with that being said, you know a baby would have that fur in their little mouth so may not be the best choose for a 6 month old. I'd wait until the teething stage is history because it is really soft and happy with the purchase.
