It's a great set with a lot of pieces and, for the price, the quality is what should be expected. Within 5 minutes, a piece has broken, one of the connectors to attach a horse to pull the wagon snapped, but I think we can super glue it. ****Please note that it no longer includes the Confederate flag!! A note from River Colony Trading came with it today that said due to Amazon's new policy, they cannot include the Confederate flag piece so they included a generic red flag. Ironically, the book I also bought for my history-loving son packed in the same box as the figures, called "Civil War for Kids" did not have the Confederate flag blacked out in the pictures, so he is still being exposed to it. Luckily, he has good parents who have explained to him what the Confederate flag means to others and our history. By removing the flag from this set, Amazon is actually removing an opportunity for "teachable moments" for parents who may not have already educated their kids to its meaning. Instead, they are removing it as if it didn't actually happen. Except from the book we also ordered. Huh. I would recommend purchasing the set from River Colony Trading directly, if possible, if this is important to you. Regardless, the set itself is a great choice.

Very impressed with the quality of these items. I was expecting the thin cheap plastic toys like you find in stores now days but was very happy with the quality! My son purchased with his own earnings and was very happy with the variety of pieces, both men and landscape. Decent size and overall great quality.

We live near Gettysburg Pa and visit often. Our 11 year old grandson reenacts battles. This set has everything he needs. He enjoys many hours of play with the set. Great learning set. Good buy.

Of course the Confederate flag is missing, but I guess that's on "my way or the highway Amazon". As to the product itself, it's not bad. I'm stepping through American history with my grandson, and I got these for covering the Civil War. He is excited about them, and that's what counts. My gripes are: a) the riders don't fit on the horses well (see pic), b) it's very tricky business to balance the horses so they stand up, c) some of the Confederate soldiers are posed a little weird (see pic) - not exactly crawling, but what else do you do with them? d) there are way too many 'commanders'; the Union has about one commander per 3-4 other soldiers; the Confederates almost that bad, e) connecting the horses to the wagons is tough; I broke both and had to resort to super glue. There's also a canoe in the set - that seems kind of random.

My nephew was making a diorama of the Battle of Gettysburg. The figures were realistic. The covered wagon and flags were a nice touch as were the cannon. This is a good toy for the money with educational value cleverly disguised as fun.

It really suck too destroy history with censoring but its not a reason to give bad reviews for this bucket. It is a very nice toy army. I like it very much and my son too.

Son loves playing with these little army men! Has fun setting them up for hours.
