Low Cost, Solid Digital Broadcast signal
I'm constantly looking for ways to get away from a cable bill and still have local HD channels but I live 35-40 miles from most broadcast locations. Tried this antenna due to the range. It comes in pieces but assembly is straightforward and requires only a phillips screwdriver. The reception range is good. The 35-45 mile local channels came in with solid signal and I discovered about 12 channels I had never detected with smaller flat antennas. The longer distance channels are definitely more dependent on the direction the device is facing. A pole is needed to mount the antenna on the roof or in the attic. I'd recommend the attic since the antenna looks metal but a majority of the pieces are plastic and likely wouldn't survive much harsh weather. Overall it's a solid signal for broadcast HD for less money than many of the similar products.

Better than my indoor antenna!
In the past, I had purchased an indoor antenna from a local store. It worked pretty well, but only really got me a few channels. A friend of mine recommended that I get a larger antenna and mounted on the roof or inside the attic. From researching online, I knew that some of my stations were located in different directions, so I looked for a motorized antenna that would allow me to fine-tune the direction if needed. While the motorize function is cool if you need it… I ended up not really needing to adjust the position, once I found the best placement. Perhaps that will change when there is bad weather or something, but so far I haven't had to rotate it, and I get all the channels that are available in my area. There was some assembly required with this antenna, but nothing anyone versed in a screwdriver can't handle. Not sure what else to say, it does what I needed to do, has a nice appearance, and comes with the amplifier built into the control box. Also, the control box has two television out ports, so I'm assuming I could connect a second TV if I needed to in the future.

Great antenna for the money
This is a great antenna for the money. We cut our cable and now only have an internet bill besides Netflix and Hulu, along with Amazon Firestick. With this antenna we can get all our local channels in crystal clear HD when the weather is good. If we swing it around to the north across Lake Erie, we can get quite a few channels from southern Ontario. This antenna is somewhat cheaply made, and I really don't think it could survive an Erie winter, so instead of installing it outside and exposing it to the wind, rain, ice and snow that we get, I installed it inside under the hip roof of our home. One pointer I would like to add: if the provided cable is not long enough, do not use a splitter to join two cables together between the control box and antenna. The voltage that the rotor control sends through the coax cable will damage the splitter and you will lose reception. I had this problem - but once I figured out what happened, I ran a 50' cable from inside the roof down to where the rotor control was set, and it has worked flawlessly since.

but without the amplifier it performed significantly worse. However
So far I just assembled the unit, but it encountered a few minor issues, one more serious. First the one larger screw was missing from the kit, which I got around by using one of my own. The instructions would have me use 9of the smallest and four of the medium screws, but the kit contained 5 of the smallest and 8 of the medium, so the instructions seemed to have mixed up the two.The more serious issue is with the coaxial male poets on the amplifier and antenna control box, which are too narrow and the acrew from the antenna cable cannot be threaded onto it. I also ordered the surge protector which had a bit coarser thread and I was able to thread that on to the antenna port; but I will probably not be able to thread a cable to the tv on the tv port since the cables I tried so far just slip on and of due to this issue. Would need another box with correct size terminals. Otherwise I will need to find some kind of filler that is conductive, perhaps aluminum foil, that will allow me to thread the cable on. I tried it indoors, which got me a few more channels than my current indoor antenna, but without the amplifier it performed significantly worse. However, I plan to mount it outside on the roof and expect reception to be much improved then.

Fantastic antenna, do not waste your time buying any other...seriously!!
This is the third antenna we tried as we live out in the middle of nowhere in the country, By Gosh...this antenna actually worked. We only got 6 lousy channels trying two other brands and antennas that claimed to be so great. They sucked! This antenna has pulled in about 20 channels for us. The closest antenna from any station is around 100 miles away or more. This antenna brought in channels we never even got in trying to use other antennas, did not even know they existed actually. Thank the heavens!!!Wish we would have found this antenna first before wasting time and money and returning the other ones. Give this a try...you will not be disappointed. We installed ours in our attic. Due to the high winds we always have on our acreage. LOVE IT!!

Use this antenna to help with your "Cut the Cord" plan.
Superb! I have "officially" cut the cord with this antenna! Able to pick up many more channels than expected. i was able to pull in a couple of the weak signal channels and all of the other strong and moderate channels shown in the DTV Reception map located on the dtvmaps posted on FCC website.I connected the antenna line to 3 tvs, 1 off of the 1st tv line and then used a splitter for the other 2 tvs.Best part is being able to rotate the antenna if a signal pixelates to clear the signal reception. My cable company could not do that!Best move was installing this antenna and since I kept my internet I was able to use the coax line from the cable company. I called my cable company 2nd tier support team to verify if this could be done 3 x's just to make sure I got the correct information. I absolutely love it!
