Q: does the light come with a base that covers the junction box? I see two pictures one with the wider rectangular base and one with a narrower base.

Yes there is a cover over the junction box. The one we have is stainless steel and sits flush to the wall and is angular attaching to the light. We got the bright white and are pleased with the amount of light it gives off. The only negative is the wiring is very thin. We are happy with the purchase

It is not a bright light light, rather a soft light. You won’t be disappointed! I’ve had so many compliments on them and I am really pleased with them. I have them in a long hall way.
