90% germination rate in 3 days
I rarely leave reviews but after reading several that stated a poor germination rate and length to germinate I thought I'd share my experience. I received my package 6/1 and immediately direct sowed into a raised bed composed of 50% top soil, 30% compost and 20% garden soil then thoroughly watered in. My package came with 36 seeds total but in fear of the germination rate reviews I put 3 seeds per hole in 12 holes hoping to achieve at least 1 seedling per. To my surprise just 3 days later on 6/4 30 of the 36 seeds had already sprouted. I'm waiting another day or so to see if the rest do. I'm in zone 8b so the soil is very warm this time of year. Hope to have time for these to mature before any frost gets them.

not one seed germinated!
0 % germination! I am an experienced gardener and planted according to seed instructions and local climate requirements. Not a single seed sprouted. I have never in my life had that happen.

Every seed germinated!
I saw mixed reviews so was worried I would get a lot of duds, but there were about 30 seeds in my pack and every one germinated! Pictured first is after 8 days, second is after 18. No flowers or beans yet but it's growing very well. You should probably separate more instead of planting all in one pot like I did, I'll probably separate into multiple pots at some point.

Would grow again.
So far so good. Germination rate is about 50/50. Plants look healthy and green. Can't wait to harvest. I plan to try a fall batch to see how well they do as the weather cools down.

Didn't grow. Not sure if bc of seeds or weather
The seeds came up but didn't grow more than a couple inches and didn't grow any edamame. We have grown edamame before without issue so we aren't sure if the problem was with the seeds or with our rather damp summer.

Great germination rate!
Update: we have baby edamame pods! I have planted 11 of these seeds. 9 have germinated great! The other two were in a hydroponic system so that’s why they may not have worked. My plants are growing so fast and look great! I can’t wait to harvest my edamame!

Mediocre seed quality and packaging. 0% germination (0 of 30 seeds)
0% germination so far. Soy bean should germinate in 48h at 70F. it's been 21 days, (including one night in lukewarm water) and 0 out of 30 have germinated so far (2 different seed packages). (And I wonder if they are actually soy beans they looked different from what I planted in the past). In addition, the packaging had a picture from some generic beans and no specific planting instructions. Finally, seed need to be protected from air and heat to retain their viability over time, here the packaging was a simple paper envelope not entirely sealed, so unless the seeds were harvested a week earlier, they are certain to have lost their vigor when they get to the customer. Overall I strongly recommend AVOIDING this seller, for neither the price nor the quality of the seeds or that of the packaging and instructions justify buying from them.
