A gem of a book!
I recently started pottery and ceramics classes and unashamedly confess to being completely addicted to this art! My tutor happened to have this book with her at one of the classes and let me borrow it when I expressed an interest in it - what a gem of a book it is! The layout is clear and simple, totally user-friendly, and the pictorial step-by-step guidance on both basic and more advanced techniques and projects is excellent! This book is certainly a must-have for anyone starting out along the potter's road and also appears to be a trusty "vade mecum" for the more seasoned potters of this world! Definitely to be recommended - an excellent buy!

Looks Ace
I bought this for a friend who has some experience in pottery and had been given a potters wheel for her birthday. I've done a bit of pottery with her but don't know masses but this book answered a lot of questions and seemed to be full of useful information. It's very colourful and there's lots of inventive ideas. I only had a quick flick through it as it was a present but form what I saw it looked great and she seems pleased with it.

Well written, illustrated and explained
The tips are numbered so you can verify there are 250 however it isn't the quantity that makes the book useful but the quality. The illustrations are clear, the explanations are short and understandable and the range of topics covered wide. The tips are not all advanced but will support increased productivity and accuracy when building.Overall an excellent book for the amateur potter.

A great book to have on hand.
Quite a well rounded beginners book. Lots of varied information and great tips not expected in a starter book! Lots of great design ideas explained really well! Just one thing..as a beginner, with no turn table (potters wheel), it would have been practical to have seen a variety of examples where clay can be manipulated manually to make simple pieces of crockery. Saying this, I'm still very happy to have bought this book.

FANTASTIC eBook!
I purchase lots of kindle books to read on my iPad, and I must say, of all the art/craft eBooks I've ever seen, 250 Tips, Techniques and Trade Secrets for Potters outshines them all. The book itself is terrific, thoroughly covering the basics that novice potters/ceramic artists need to know, with tons of full-color photos and detailed instructions and information. It's a go-to resource that I'm sure I will use for many years to come. But, what I really appreciate about this book as an eBook is the way it's laid out and organized so nicely, how the chapters are so easy to navigate, and how BRILLIANT every page looks on my iPad. The photos are big and bold, and they don't lose resolution when you enlarge them if needed. I love this book, and if you're hesitant to pay over $10 for an eBook (as I was), let me reassure you, this one is worth it!Sharilyn Miller, author of the Arty Jewelry series
