This is the holy trifecta of dog harnesses for reactive dogs. We have two lab mixes from the same litter who were terribly neglected (and seem to have been abused, as well) before they were rescued. One of them seems to not have a care in the world while the other is clearly haunted by his past demons and is processing his traumatic childhood. He is hands down the most reactive dog I have ever met. Two rounds of puppy finishing school (because he flunked out the first time) and he’s still a touch squirmy. The worst thing it the world to him was putting anything near his neck. Collars, leashes, the cone of shame- this kid could not handle it. A lot of work from my amazing husband got us to the point where he could wear a harness. We needed something he could not back out of, made us able to spot him in the desert from a mile a way, and made tough enough to withstand the lot of us- boy howdy, this fit the bill. The color is vibrant and exactly as pictured. It is thick and durable with a soft liner on the inside and in no way does it hinder his mobility. Of course, he was a bit timid with it at first, but know that he knows that when he puts it on it is officially adventure time. We bought another of a different brand and the boys chewed it to shreds on day one. This harness got a bit roughed up by their chewing, but was still in fine shape. We love this harness so much that we bought two more the next size up as they’re now ready for the XL. Could not recommend this harness more.

i purchased this Escape proof harness in size medium for my 60 pound shep/chow mix. my doggie has managed to wiggle out of every other harness that I brought. She likes to go out in the yard and refuse to come back in. i have tried to bring her back in and she backs right out of the harness every time. I ran across this one on Amazon and it really WORKS! I couldn't believe it. I put it on her and did not have to adjust it because it was a perfect fit! She has not managed to get out of it yet. It's been only a few days, and I think that she has given up trying! Price is also reasonable. thanks Amazon!

I absolutely love this harness. I have tried a few other brands, and this is the only one my teenage golden Josie can’t escape from! The second strap that goes under the belly, is what makes this harness so reliable. I have repurchased twice. Josie’s did manage to chew off one of the straps on the first one. It was not a quality issue, she’s a velociraptor lol. I now just remove it immediately when coming inside the house. Extremely supportive and comfortable on her. She also goes swimming in the creek often, with it on. I have washed it many times and have not experienced any wear from washing. I do put it in a mesh laundry bag when washing. It also goes into the dryer after. The handle strap on the top is also really useful. I am able to lift her back legs off the ground with it, to get her moving. My 60 year old mother is also able to do the same. My mom has struggled with some of the other harnesses we have tried. It’s sturdy enough for her to use when lifting, without hurting herself.

Great quality harness, came exactly as described, and wasn’t too difficult to get fitted to my dog. I have what’s considered a “mutt.” He’s primarily Beagle (60%) and American Pit Bull Terrier (30%). The others are a bunch of random breeds which each make up a small percentage of his DNA. He is very good at escaping his harness. He’s about 7 months old now and we’ve had an ongoing issue of trying to find a harness that he can’t pull out of. Unfortunately, at first, he did manage to escape from this harness as well. We hooked his run leash to the metal clasp that sits right at the shoulder blades (which is where you’d think to hook up the leash). He managed to still pull out and escape. But I think we’ve found a solution that works with this harness! We started running his leash through the handle at the very back of the harness and THEN attaching it to the metal clasp. And he can’t pull out of it! I’m not sure if that’s a preferred way to use this harness but it’s the only way we’ve found that works for our dog. The harness looks great, it appears to be comfortable for our dog, I consider it easy to put on and take off. I also really appreciate the handle in the middle of the back. Definitely makes it a lot easier if you have to quickly grab/pick them up for some reason.

Very nice dog harness! I like the fact that there aren't any straps underneath his little arms to cause chaffing. My dog can't escape this harness either. In addition to, he weighs 15 lbs, and I purchased the size small, and after a few minor adjustments to the straps, the fit is perfect.

I’ve been using this harness everyday for over a month now. My dog hasn’t slipped out of it at all. He used to escape my old harness as well as his collar all the time. It was so bad I stopped walking him on the street until this one arrived. This one has been escape proof! The fit is great. Dog is about 55 pounds and I got the medium. If he out grows it I’ll replace with the same harness in larger size. I have full control over him. It doesn’t put any pressure on his neck when he pulls or when I have to pull him. The large handle on the back is so handy. I can pick him up and put him on his feet when he becomes stubborn. I also use it to put him in the car. He can’t reach the straps to chew through them (that was the fate of our first harness!). Great harness. Very sturdy! Very pleased.

It fit my slender escape artist beagle like a glove! She was so comfortable and happy in it. The harness itself is a great quality item.

I've liked this harness because it's adjustable and has the extra strap so mu dog can't back out of it. That being said, my 45 pound dog has gone through 3 of these because they break. The straps in the front have snapped twice and one of the fabric connected to the plastic clips has broken once. If you have a dog that pulls, this is not very durable. I had one that broke the day we received it, the replacement came and lasted only a month.
