Works great and hits all the right trigger point spots.
It def hits all the spots that cause muscle tightness and soarness in the upper back/shoulder/neck area. I’ve struggled with back and neck pain since I was 15 and we’re going on now 21 years of it. Depending on what part of neck and shoulders are bothering me, I lay on it a little differently. Taking the advice in the instruction booklet, I started by turning my head right to left to relax the muscles that are stiff and soar. I also then began turning my legs at the hips to the right and left to allow pressure to reach diff spots while laying on it too. After that I started playing around with the level of pressure I could get on the pinpoint spots I’m struggling with. The best way I’ve found to do this is by slowing picking your arms up straight in the air while laying on your back of course, and then lowering them to floor above your head. It allows some serious stretch to happen while also hitting the trigger points!! Basically, whatever you’re struggling with, play around with how you lay on it, where you let the trigger points hit, and how long you lay on it at one time. My husband who is a body builder, is very stiff and gets very soar in the upper back area between his shoulder blades and lower neck. So this has been a god send for him as well. It def does the job. If you’re like me, and because of degenerative discs issues, muscle knots everywhere and just all over discomfort, at times it feels like an ice pick is stuck in your back. This has been really helpful in stopping that from seizing up and causing excruciating pain. I lay on it anywhere from 5-15 minutes at a time daily, and I def feel a diff! Almost silly how well this little thing works but, this traction thing-a-majig is fabulous ! 😂

Great! But glue the pads/feet on
This thing is so easy to use and helps my head, neck, shoulder, jaw, upper/middle/lower back tension and pain SO MUCH.My only recommendation is that you glue the little black feet/pads on immediately. They can slip out easily and if you don’t have all of them, it won’t stay properly and you can make your discomfort worse.Use this on a hard surface to get the right alignment and pressure.Don’t use longer than 15mins at a time, but you can use it multiple times during the day and I love using it right before bed and right when I wake up.

I wanted to love this but. . . using this resulted in vertigo twice.
I wanted to love this pillow. I didn't read the reviews. . .Instead, I just decided to purchase it because I have battled with neck pain and migraines for many years and just looking at the pillow I assumed it would help. I pop Imitrex like tic tics some weeks because my pain is that bad. Some people who have migraines have "food triggers". Mine stem from my neck.I gave up sleeping with a regular pillow years ago and I either roll up a towel tightly and sleep with this in the crook of my neck, or I use the bed of nails pillow I purchased here on Amazon. They have helped with my migraines. However, I still get at least 9 a month, and I will do anything to try to alleviate the pain. I know a chiropractor would be able to assist, but I am in fear of an adjustment.First of all, if you have hair on your head, you MUST lay a pillow case or a towel over this. If you don't, your hair will get stuck in the balls and you will have to cut it out. I have extremely long hair and I learned this the hard way. Thank goodness I got up right away and was able to see that my hair was getting tangled.2nd, I thought it felt good. I do not mind the hardness of this pillow at all. Anyone with neck pain related to migraines know that a lot of pressure feels good. So I was happy with the pillow initially. However, I used it twice and both times I got vertigo! I get vertigo maybe once or twice a year. . . and I thought the first time perhaps it was just this time of the year. However, a few days later I tried again and the same thing! Vertigo again! I knew at this point it wasn't coincidence, and I opted to stop using the pillow. Now I am in no way saying this won't work for someone else. But it doesn't work for me. Or maybe it would, but I am not chancing it. Again, it feels good and hits the pressure points, but in my opinion, it is not worth the vertigo.

Works great after initial discomfort
The first 5 minutes or so felt like torture. If you have ever had a massage and the therapist pressed into a knot and it hurt and you didn't want them to do it again, then this might not work well for you. But after a few minutes as my muscles actually began to relax it was ok. I probably wouldn't call it comfortable exactly, but it was tolerable and released the tension in my neck. Side benefit it changed the position of my spine and that helped my lower back a bit as well. Not for sleeping, I used it on my living room floor. I doubt it would work on a bed? Maybe I'll give it a go but I can't imagine that working well. Definitely not for sleeping though. My only concern with it is longevity. It's not just that it's plastic, but the kind of plastic for little kids toys. So I don't know how well it will stand the test of time. But I'm going to give it a try.
