The media could not be loaded. Hobby Hut HH-601 “Kukri” type knife.First impressions:For $39, it’s a pretty fantastic deal. It was $69 and I held off. I think at $69 it is probably reasonable based on actually holding it in my hands now. The edge angle is appropriate for chopping, but can easily shave hair off my arm at any point along the edge. The handle is more attractive than I expected, the micarta looks nice. Feels well balanced, not too heavy or too light for my taste. Handle is a bit thinner than I anticipated, I wear large size gloves and can wrap my fingers well around the grip. I would say the handle feels more like a typical hunting knife handle. Typically these bigger knives have a larger handle, but I think this is good. If your hands are huge, you may find the grip slightly on the small side.1-year update:The edge angle is more like a hatchet and it cuts like a hatchet. For months I used it here and there trying to clear brush but found I wanted it to behave like a machete, so I ended up clamping it into a jig I made for knife making, and re-ground the blade angle with a sanding flap disk on my angle grinder. It cam out very well and it much more appropriate for brush cutting now.

Excellent buy for around $25 I see the price has gone up and it's quite a shame, the more the price rises the less people will buy and the less people will feel comfortable using it and this blade deserves to be tested.

This is really a very nice small machete. The quality is very good, and the micarta handle fits my medium hand pretty well, but those with bigger hands will want to wrap it in something. Edge came sharp, and balance feels pretty good.
