YAKIMASnap Round/Square - Set of 4

I much prefer Thule "square" bars to the Yakima round bars, and to use roller and saddle supports for carrying a kayak on the roof of a car or truck, these mounting clips are essential. I understand they've been discontinued, so finding them was great.

I bought this to combine them with  Original Quick Fist Clamp for mounting tools & equipment 1" - 2-1/4" diameter (Pack of 2)  in a  Thule LB58 Roof Rack Load Bars (58-Inch, Set of 2)  on which a  Thule Canyon XT Basket  was bolted on. What I needed was to have a way to secure a long tree pruner to the Thule square load bars. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to do this. It turns out that you can twist off the inside tabs of these snaparounds in order to make them fit the Thule square bars (they fit Yakima round bars, which are that company version of the load bars). A bolt, nyloc nut and two washers secure the QuickFist to the snaparound and then you can mount a long shovel, a Hi-Lift Jack or a long pole to your rig. Very satisfied with the result.

I moved from an old square bar roof rack to a round bar rack..I have had a Yakima roof basket for some time ..I had to modify the snaps that came with the basket ..per the instructions..to make them fit the square bar..Problem is that once this modification is done you can no longer use them on a round bar..This is not a design fault..Actually nice that you can use on either bars..Only problem is that once you clip out the snaps for a square bar you cannot go back to the round bar..This is the reason I had to get a second set.. As with all Yakima accessories..Over priced for what you get..

Don’t mind my very dirty roof racks... these are perfect. I did a bit of research and made sure to get the right clips for my Yakima lift ticket racks. Fits great and I used the stock hardware. Over all great and should fit most of if not older Yakima products.

The only complaint I have is that Yakima gouges and overcharges on everything for parts that are basic and utilitarian. If I could find aftermarket cheaper brands I would buy those. The item is made well and now has the interior 'pinchers' for the round bar rack. Happy but poor(er).

What I need

I had read these would adapt to 1.25" square bars, but they weren't big enough. Glad I only ordered one set. Not sure what to do now without spending $100+ for mounting 3 bike carriers with 3 bolts each.

These are good to have for the inevitable DIY solutions when you have a rack set up for multiple tasks. I’ve been piecing together multiple brands and home made mounts for years, and these are the links that tie it all together.

Would have been nice to know these were only for the bike racks....will not work with Thule bars for ski holders.
