Well designed and manufactured
This dehydrator was well packaged. Some damage to the outer carton but none to the dehydrator and came promptly.Due to the size of this dehydrator, you will probably put it into some sort of storage area and put it on your countertop when you want to use it. The box is pretty light and has a handle on top to help move it from place to place.I have dehydrated a few things in this and it works very well. The controls are intuitive and easy to use. Completely adjustable time and temperature. Temperature adjustments can be in fahrenheit or celsius by pressing and holding the temperature button. This unit is pretty quiet, quieter than a microwave or refrigerator.the entire unit is made of stainless steel, except for the control panel, which is very good. The 10 mesh trays, also stainless steel, are of a fine mesh such that all but fine ground spices won't fall through. I would recommend getting silicone mesh screens to place on the steel shelves because it keeps items from sticking to the metal screens of the trays. The fan in the back does a great job of drying all produce inside as it circulates the heat evenly across the trays and dries evenly, even if you only have one or all 10 trays full. The main box is made of 100% stainless steel is a bit of a thin gauge, but there is probably no good reason to make it heavier and doesn't influence it's ability to dry produce or influence it's energy efficiency. After all, the circulation fan sucking air in from the back to blow over produce and exit the front, helping to evenly dry produce, would negate the purpose of any insulation of the box. This product is at a good price point, you can pay more but won't find a better product for the intended purpose. There is one function that would be nice. If it had a "keep warm" function so if drying while away, the items wouldn't re-hydrate while left alone a few hours. This is easy to work around however by setting a short time and low temperature for a bit before bagging up produce that may have re-absorbed some moisture while sitting after turning off.Very satisfied with this dehydrator's design and manufacture

Food Dehydrator, works very well.
We have used this constantly since ordering. Great for dehydrating veggies, fruits, but hubby's favorite thing is making beef jerky. About the size of a mini fridge, the shelves are easy to clean. Hoping for many years of use.

Overall Satasfied!
The media could not be loaded. Overall, I'm satasfied with my purchase. The product description is accurate. This is a large all stainless steel machine. It has 10 metal trays and a drip pan. There is a digital reading on top for temp and time. It included a recipe book and instruction manual, as well as a registration card. To get the silicone mats you must complete the registration for the lifetime warranty.PROS:This dehydrator has a lot of space. It is very large, make sure you take the dimensions and controls into consideration when ordering. With the controls on top and in the back, adequate space is needed, nothing more than you would need to allow for airflow, but being aware of the location of the controls might make a difference. This isnt a machine designed to be taken in and out of storage frequently, so well worth it to find a dedicated spot, especially if you preserve food as much as we do.It is very quick to dehydrate. I have always used one of the round plastic models with the motor on the bottom. It took me 6 to 8 hours to dehydrate green onion in one of those, this machine took an hour for the greens, 2 hours for the white bulbs to finish. Several racks of halved grape tomatoes were done in less than 6 hours. There are some great recipes in the recipe book. I have a brand new grand daughter, so I'm looking forward to trying the yogurt melts when she is old enough. The recipe book is definitely a direct translate, measured in grams and includes a recipe for Pork Stripes, but we appreciate the extra. The racks, tray and bottom of the machine are pretty easy to clean, so far nothing dried on I couldn't get off.The motor itself is very quiet.I used a digital thermometer to check the accuracy of the temp gauge and the settings are very close to the readings I got. It did vary up to 4° depending on where, in the unit, I tested, but I dont feel it affects my results.CONS:I really dont have much to complain about here just some things to be aware of.My biggest con though, would be no fan speed control. This is the only reason I didnt give it 5 stars. The fan pushes the air through pretty quickly, which is great for drying meats, tomatoes, and other dense, high moisture food, however, I have to be careful in placing my herbs in the machine because the fan tends to blow the herbs around the inside once they're dry.The temp gauge does not have a setting for Farenheit. It is 30°-90°C in 5° incriments. Not a big deal, I printed a conversion chart and keep it with my machine. As stated above, cleaning is easy. The only down side is some of the edge are a bit sharp in the door frame, I havent cut myself, but I am careful. You want to make sure you use the drip pan, there is only a mesh grate separating the tray area from the back of the machine where the motor and fan is housed, if you had wet food on the racks such as meat that could drip marinade, this could easily spread behind the mesh and you could not reach it without disassembling things. Which, of course, voids your warranty. Any spills would not put the moving parts at risk, you just couldnt easily clean the bottom up.As I said, the motor is quiet, however this is a metal machine with all metal parts and a metal fan. The motor/fan vibration does cause the entire unit to vibrate some. My first couple uses required some finagling to keep the housing from vibrating loudly, but once that was figured out I tend to forget it's running the motor is so quiet. When dehydrating remove any racks not being used to keep them from vibrating in the machine while in use. I included a video of the cleaning cycle they recommend out of the box. This is the loudest the machine ever was, all the racks inside empty and we had not leveled the bottom yet so it's a little louder than usual it's still not bad. With the very thin fan blades, I can see where some people have stated their fan was stuck/bent upon arrival. The housing does appear to disassemble easily and I would assume this to be a quick fix if you weren't concerned with your warranty.

Set it and forget about It.
I was surprised by the size and the durability of the dehydrator. I should have known by the "commercial". It works for my family since I grow most of our food. I am using it to prep for the winter. Most of my harvested vegetables are dehydrated. I set the time and temperature and forget about it. It is not for someone who would dehydrate a few items. I make sure that all of the racks are full when it is used. It is excellent for big families. I loved the book that came with it. It had great pictures with the cooking time and temperature for most common items. It is quiet but gives off some heat. It take up a lot of space on the counter. I would recommend this dehydrator for large families or small businesses. Dehydrate and healthier snacks.
