One Piece, Vol. 26 (Volume 26): Adventure on Kami's Island

One piece volume 26- Chapters 237 up to 246Pushing forward into the skypiea arc as the crew rides the knockup stream into the clouds and when they arrive they are attacked and then saved by the skynight ganfor. They then proceed into sandy beach after not paying the toll at the gate of skypiea which causes issues with them staying there...In this island in the sky there is so much going on including what seems to be its own civil war over the land up there as well as someone controlling the sky in the shadows. With such creativity in this arc of the manga it makes it very enjoyable to read with the new introduction on technology called dials which each have their own function or use, and also the introduction of new and powerful enemies that the crew has never fought against the likes of before

It's nice how things starts going faster. the Skypiea arc is up and running. It feels like a total left turn from the Alabasta saga; it's much goofier and much lighter in tone, but carries a very menacing aura of dystopia that creates an interesting dichotomy. There's also some surface level religious commentary, though it is more indicative of our characters than it is of theological discourse. This volume also introduces more new mechanics than any volume prior to it.

One Piece volume 26 contains chapters 237 to 246.The Straw Hat Pirates are now in the sky! The third part of the Skypiea arc sees the real start of the arc. The crew runs into a lot of trouble when entering Skypiea, from being randomly attacked to not paying the entrance fee, things don't look too good. Luckily they meet some friendly residents of Skypiea. A weird old man calling himself "The Sky Knight" and two Skypians who say they will help the pirates. Merry Go and part of the crew are dragged to the forbidden island and it's up to Luffy, Sanji and Usopp to rescue them! But they can't do that unless they complete a challenge.As with most One Piece volumes, a lot happens in 9 chapters. We meet new friends and new enemies as well as a new land with new animals and plants. Eiichiro Oda must have an amazing imagination to be able to think up all these new species and designs!The cover is lovely, it's bright and all of the crew feature on it. One of my favourites!
