Cats are not my favorite animal, even though I can't resist petting a wee tiny kitten. But his story collection of anecdotes from cat owners will bring smiles to dogs' best friend. It is fun, and all true. That's a requirement of Chicken soup for the Soul. No fiction. So if the story seems unbelievable; believe anyway, it's true, it happened.Nikki Studebaker Barcus, a friend who attends my church, is included in this collection. Her story "The Truce" about rival farm cats is heartwarming, when the corn-field stray, makes up and offers truce during the birthing process of the other. Of course, knowing one author, makes me prejudice to pick a favorite for "My Cat's Life" but choosing second place from the remaining 100 cat-tales is hard. You will enjoy the romp through this Chicken Soup collection. Take them one at a time, daily, or use it like Readers' Digest, have it resting on a bathroom shelf (within reach for the short readable times), or best, like me, read it on the patio swing. I had a stray cat walk between me and the pond while reading, giving me a new gentler feel for the bird-stalking feline.Not all stories are just about a cat. Human relationships with this animal make up a goodly portion of the book and, yes, inspire, warm the heart, and touch on the compassionate bone of the soul. Not my first Chicken Soup book purchase, but it was my first ANIMAL Chicken Soup book purchase, and now after reading, not my last.Chicken Soup is long noted for quality writing from not only published authors, but also from common folk who enjoy journal entries at home. This collection is no exception. A great family book, gift idea for cat lovers, and a potential change of heart for a few.

I pretty much love all Chicken Soup book and have red so many I lost count.At my apartment I have many more on my shelf to read.This chicken soup book is filled with cat stories about cats of all ages.I have one cat that's about two years old and three other cats that are older two of them are definetly seniors.If you have a cat these stories are a great reminder of why they are in your life and if you don't have a cat and like them it will motivate you to get one.I especially like the section with stories on how people dealt with losing their pet death.I lost one cat before reading this and now that I have red this book I am more prepared when I will lose another one to death hopefully not anytime soon.This book is a great one to read especially if you are a person who doesn't read alot, likes personal stories,and likes or loves cats and may have cats like me who are many ages and stages.

My fur baby died in Dec. 2018. I had to put her down because her kidneys failed after 14 years with me. It was one of the hardest things i had to do in my life. This book reminded me the joys i had with my cat and also showed me others around the world who also exerienced the same pain, but still recovered. I hope one day i will be able to find another cat like my last when i am ready. This book is perfect for any cat lover who is thinking of getting a cat, who already has a cat, or for someone whose cat passed away. Excellent book!!!!!

I love reading Chicken Soup for the Soul books, I especially love the ones about cats. I never thought I would have cats,after all I am allergic to them,but my cats (I have 4) are my babies. They each have their own individual personalities and I do believe they can read our hearts and souls. My cat that I've had the longest-Barbie knows before we get up in the morning when I am going to have a stressful day. We wake up and she looks into my eyes, gets up and will snuggle next to me as if to say "Its okay, we can get through this together" The books show that I am not the only one that know that while a dog is a loyal pet, a cat is a loyal friend.

I laughed a lot, I cried a little and can't express how much I enjoyed some of these stories about our furry friends. Not all my cats lived for 19 plus years, some never even made it to their first birthdays but they all gave me something to remember and this book is full of similar stories. I particularly like the stories about the growing up cat which in my case was Brandy early 86 to Oct 2004 A female that saw me running around with toy cars to marriage and the birth of my son. I have had other cats since and currently have 3 but the growing up cat holds a special place in my heart.
